I had really high hope for Kieran Trippier this season after such a good World Cup. It now seems ludicrous that Pochettino told the media that he didn't trust Kyle Walker in big games but Trippier who makes way way more mistakes defensively than Walker ever did but is never called out on it. At least Walker gave us a good option going forward and had pace to recover most errors. Kyle Walker-Peters looked like he was the real deal but it just hasn't happened for the lad yet.

Not a great night but we were playing against a side where money is no object, so I don't think we can be too disappointed considering that we are stuck at Wembley Stadium. Onwards and upwards #COYS ?
We were 2nd best tonight, should have got a draw because they couldn't get a second but overall poor. Something isn't right about the whole thing, stadium, team, mgr, something just isn't right

I figured that when he started taking digs at other people’s ages without actually knowing how old they were.

I suspect it might be him who taught Hugo how to play the man instead of the ball.
Or the man who taught Hugo how to kick the ball.

Oh sorry, am I not allowed to say that? Does that mean I have to list a group of goalies who I want instead?

Hugo Lloris can’t kick the ball. There I said it. Shoot me people.

Again with a jibe at Lamela. Remind me who won us the 3 points last week...

You accept the club fucked up our most crucial transfer in many years, and yet you think our cackery is mere dips in player form?

Interesting take.

Yes - we needed and need players but we are still a good team with good players. Some are out of form but that happens. Losing to City don’t change that.

Its nearly November and Kane still hasn't snapped out of this form he's been in since the injury last season.

Were scrapping wins and narrowly losing games and a large part of it is because we do not have the real Kane at the moment.

If this continues, were not getting top 4.

Glad to see there’s more on here who agree with things I’ve said than the heroes who think everything’s hunky dory and every criticism is misplaced.

The better teams don’t always win, people/players are not machines they have bad days even Man City a side that got a record points tally last season lost to Wigan 2 divisions below last season

I agree but whereas City can and have dropped points they play the majority of their opponents off the park. This season we’ve lost our dominance in midfield, leaking goals for fun and created/taken nowhere near as many chances as we did last season. I know we’ve had injuries but morale looks shot, unforced errors are at an all time high and tactics have been bizarre at the best of times.

The only saving grace is that hopefully Dele and Eriksen will come back with some energy. Can’t help but feel Kane could do with a minor injury, particularly just before international break time. They should have sent him on holiday weeks ago

Probably be the best in the league if there were 19 Panamas.

Never thought I’d say it, but what Jamie Carragher just said about us is spot on.

What has always puzzled me over the years with the community on SC is that we collectively never seem to realise when an opponent is in cruise control because that's all they need to beat us in certain games. When an opponent does that, it will flatter us because on the surface it looks like the teams are playing evenly. But even is not the case when one team is barely making an effort. We are poor when we can't beat a team that's playing poorly. It's that simple. We were bad. The only reason why some are fooled, is because one team virtually played with their hands tied behind their backs and still won.
Tbf teams often play poorly because the other team is playing well. Its what happens off the ball that counts, not what you see on your tv screen. No idea what the case was today. If Man city were cruising today, then wow they were doing it all wrong.

Man city are way superior than we are. But, we are a pretty darn good side. I always feel its strange how spurs fans love pushing themselves down. In the league we are doing well without key players and without playing well, but pretty much every game we have won we have deserved to win, and pretty much every game we have lost we deserved, or were close to getting something from it. Injuries and world cup have had a major impact on us. Imagine Liverpool without Salah, Mane and Van Dijck. We've essentially been in that situation. We've played Lamela and Lucas behind Kane, these are players who last season were 4th and 5th choice attacking midfielders. We've been without Lloris for long periods too.

We look flat and fatigued because we are. Our players arn't fit, hardly any of them had preseason, people are getting injured left right and centre. If we can get the fitness back we will get there. But If you offered me the PL results we've had so far at the moment, I'd of taken it, without question.

Last time this season we started a run of 5 points in 6 games with loss against Man Utd on this round. We would only pick up a win against a sinking crystal palace. We would get taken to bits by Arsenal, lucky to escape with 2-0 loss. We would lose 2-1 against Leicester and manage only draws against hopeless West Brom and Watford. By the way Kane scored 1 goal in those 5 games, he always goes through a few bad spells. BTW if we go on a run like that now, we would still be in a better position same time last season. Im not worried about this season ....yet.

It’s a real problem. He shouldn’t have been picked for the first month of the season.

This is Kane now, mate.

Everyone's in denial.

Not believing their 'lying eyes'.

It's tough to accept, but we must; and plan to bring in real competition for him next season.

Careful what you wish for..... there's a vacancy at Real. Losing our best coach for years would send us back to the dark ages imo. It's total hyperbole anyway, considering the overall picture.

Relax All. Our best players are nearly back to fitness and form. Watch this spurs side find form the second part of the season if we keep injury free. (Key)
That's what we've always done under Poch. We never find our form till December. This season is not going to be any different.

At this point I'd be ecstatic if we could keep Poch and find some kind of way of sticking in the top 4 this season. We could then fix the mess that Levy created in the summer window and go into our new stadium fresh with a chance to compete to win things next season.

Mate- if it makes you unhappy, walk away.

Born 1988 ? I was there all through the 90s - every game.

It’s not all rosey but this club has spent £1b on infrastructure projects - things will turn around and fast.

Our future is very rosey - more than most clubs

Yeah I agree 100% with that. I was born in 1973 so the 90's seem like yesterday to me. We've come from having one of the worst training facilities in the UK to having one of the best in the World now. Our stadium, which I loved, was literally falling apart around us. We now are going to have one of the Stadiums on the planet. The future is very bright, you just have too see the progress we have made to the whole infrastructure of the Football, it has been a major achievement and I for one am proud of how far we have come. ☺
