It's our final ball and finishing that has let us down, which is due to our attackers not being settled as a unit due to untimely injuries or loss of form. I saw green shoots of recovery last night in our team, which is more than can be said of the pitch.

To be honest I have seen in our last two games some signs of us getting back to our best. Both disappointing results but nevertheless some positives for me

No it isn't - and not a single club considers it as such. Neither do any players. That's why they mostly play their reserves and youth players in it.
A major trophy has major rewards and European football must be considered as such. Oh and one question. Did you celebrate the 2009 win or just wave it off as meaningless? Because if you did then it's a bit hypocrytical I'd say.

Europa league qualification is not a major reward - if it were we would should be happy with a 6th placed finish. So no your statement that European football must be considered as such is Just wrong.

Top 4/CL qualification is bigger than the FA Cup or League Cup in the grand scheme of things. We've done that 3 seasons running. The main concern is if we don't keep doing it and don't win a trophy either. You want to progress in football but with every bit of progress comes higher expectation. If we had won the League instead of Leicester I'm sure we would still be in this same situation as we are now. What we're trying to do is achieve consistent success without spending much and that method wont change with just one title. Build not buy is the approach but it's a very difficult one in this era.

You are correct - except for the fact that no one would be moaning about us not winning anything

You didn't answer the other thing. Did you or did you not celebrate the 2009 win? Probably not since it was meaningless.

just got around to watching the game and Ive got to say Im not too upset. We put out a weakened side missing 2 of our very best and but for a momentary lapse from Trips we'd probably have drawn.
