I have heard all these decisions on who to include in the squad , is us trying to get players to sign and renew contracts with the club , not on ability , once signed like TOB ect we move onto the next one .
Don't know if it's been posted as I've been off. Haysman, BBW and Hackett called up to England u15 camp and played in game against Sheffield United, Forson also there and scored a couple. Still unattached
John and Watt are with England u16s in France.
Our u18s beat Southampton 3-1. White scored another freekick, and our u16s beat Southampton 4-1.
Good on Skipp for making his debut. Hopefully the first of many more to come and he makes a breakthrough into the team in the next couple of years like Winks has done. Lot of negativity about Poch not given the youth a chance but he provided an opportunity tonight.
Seriously you can't mention Mount at Derby and not even look at the people who are giving him a chance.I think it's sometimes difficult for people to accept when our young players don't make the breakthrough. However, as we are seeing with Winks & now with Skipp, it's only the cream of the crop that will get into our team. I see people making cases for Onomah, KWP, TOB and others, but none of us truly know how good they are in comparison to other Premier League players.
KWP I personally think will be a late bloomer due to his size and build, the Premier League is so fiercely athletically competitive that, at the minute, I think he would struggle to play week in week out. Onomah was the one I held real high hopes for but just doesn't seem to be doing it on loan at any of the clubs he has joined. Compare him to Mason Mount at Derby who has been a revelation and you can see that Josh is nowhere near that standard yet.
Other players like TOB, Skipp, Parrot et al are so young that we can't expect to see them in any regular fashion for the next 3-5 years I personally think.
I know some think that Poch is terrible at playing younger players, however I don't see the other top level Prem teams doing it either. Foden has played a few mins, although mostly when City are already 3 or 4 up so its easy to bring them on, Arsenal have played a few, as have Utd. Liverpool play one in TAA much like us in Winks and Chelsea hardly play any, which considering some of the talent they have in their youth, is the most surprising.

Look at Tomori, he has never been a standout player in the championship and now he is looking like one of the best CB's in the championship because with the players and management he is playing under.
Our club is stupid in the sense we send players to teams that dont suit their style of play at all. Mount didn't go to steve bruce and expected to play LW whilst been instructed to stay back and focus on the fullback. He went to Vitesse and Derby both teams that play good football

I think it's a balancing act though. I don't think it would've been wise to have just chucked Skipp straight in from the start. Now that he's had a few minutes and looked comfortable the opportunities should come more regular now. Kane and Winks weren't just thrown straight in at 17/18 years old. It's easy to get carried away with excitement when you've got some talented academy players on your hands but it's also easy for them to get ruined by the pressure if asked for too much too early. Also I think the fact that CCV and Onomah who were two who seemed on course for the first team and have now fallen by the wayside has made him more cautious. If they're good enough though they will play.At comparable clubs Smith-Rowe, Foden and Diaz all started for their clubs, ESW and Diaz scoring. City also facing a PL team. Skipp gets 7mins in the League Cup and Poch has done enough to earn praise from the fans, which will no doubt tide him over until next season. Incredible. As I say PL clubs suck at bringing players through and yet Poch still does less. It wont' change and neither will the views of the fans.
The stuff about the players not being good enough is nonsense. They don't need to be as good as Kane just better than our rubbish squad players to get chances. And when the few talents go abroad and seem to do well, when we know full well they would not be playing here, the 'not good enough' excuse surely can only run for so long. People don't honestly believe Sancho would be playing for England if he chose us over Dortmund.

I think in one way it's fortunate that Windy left the site, for he went on about it at length and still does on Twitter. It's almost like he has his own agenda.I really respect you as a poster and your knowledge of the youth players we have and the league in general is fantastic. But I feel like there is and has been a negative tone to your posts for a long time. You’re not happy about the youngsters getting enough chances rightly or wrongly, but it’s starting to grate with this constant undertone to all your posts. Even when Poch provides an opportunity its then turned into a negative because it wasn’t long enough. I want the youngsters to succeed as much as anyone and I also wish they would get more opportunities. And now it’s “incredible” because some of us are happy Skipp got some kind of opportunity. It has started to make this thread (which I used to believe was the best) one of the most negative ones to visit.
Skipp and Eyoma signed new contracts in August and made the bench, so that cant be true.I have heard all these decisions on who to include in the squad , is us trying to get players to sign and renew contracts with the club , not on ability , once signed like TOB ect we move onto the next one .
Didn't TOB get a few injuries last season? It seems to happen quite a bit when our youngsters first go full time training with the first team (Georgiou, Edwards & Amos off the top of my head), so I wonder if the difference in the physical intensity between the two is too vast.Wouldn't surprise me as there is clearly no intent to actually play them. The Tanganga/Eyoma situation is either or. Funny thing about TOB is he was kept strictly with the first team to help develop him, and not play games, and now he has been stifled so much he's actually regressed behind other players. I don't expect much to come of Kirby, as it's nigh on impossible coming through to the PL, but I remember when he left people were looking to compare their development and thought he was crazy for leaving and TOB was the sensible smart one. I don't know how people are so deluded to believe that staying here would be somewhat better than chancing your arm elsewhere.
Of course I could be talking to soon with TOB but it's not looking great and we know development is even poorer at the u23s.
