I feel a Spurs Community
Poetry Society
coming on.

I see that most people
can handle rhyme
but scanning and rhythm
need some work.

Send bank details for full prospectus.

Now isn't this more interesting
and dare I say 'fun'
than speculating on foreign 'aces'
who few have heard of
and who won't be coming anyway.

It occurs to me
that there is a vacancy
for a Poet Laureate at the moment
following the end of Carol Ann Duffy's
the first woman in 340 years,
ten year term.

The Job Description is as follows
A poet laureate (plural: poets laureates) is a poet officially appointed by a government
or conferring institution, typically expected to compose poems
for special events and occasions.

Benjamin Zephaniah is not applying
so an opportunity for someone on SC
I, like Bejamin, won't be up for it
as a 10 year stint is probably outside
my eta at the Pearly gates.

The following is a list of Poets Laureate
sine Dryden held the first post.
As you can see it's a bit of rag-bag
so don't be afraid to apply.

I am happy to help.
Just send your application to me
with the 25 pound fee.
and I will pull strings
with my poetry colleagues.

The pay is in excess of 5000 pounds a year
and a barrel of Sherry.

I repeat
don't give up the day job

Sorry to disappoint all those
expecting to read
the latest non signing.

I’d like us to trade players if we won’t net spend. If HG is critical then after watching yesterday I’d like us to try and sign Wan Bissaka and fund it by selling Trippier. He looks ike someone who genuinely could be an upgrade on Walker, pace, strength and calm in the final third.

Reckon the bids for Trippier will be at 25m, while Palace will ask for 70m for their best player Bissaka

What do you think of Lo Celso as an alternative to De Jong??
He's been doing really good so far at Betis. (He's on loan from PSG btw)
Just had a fantastic game against Barca. Scored a lucky goal and was the centre of everything good going forward for Betis who won 4-3.

I disagree, Trippier is a current international who had a great tournament and has made a load of assists this season. His price should be similar to Walker. Palace can ask what they like but the right price for a player with lots of potential but only 6 months league experience isn’t above 35m and they desperately need funds to buy a forward or they are going down, in which case they will have to fire sell everyone in the summer.

Not sure about that. The cost of a player is largely determined by the quality of the team interested.

Trippier was at a premium after the World Cup but none of the top four or European elite would be interested. The best that could be interested is Everton so his Price wouldn’t be so high.

If we make Bissaka a priority signing Palace will be looking for a premium sum.

Agree with the post above, there was a chance that one of the very top teams would have bought Trippier off the World Cup hype, but that has cooled down already.
