But they didn't and it finished 2-1, I sure as hell wasn't as down and the fact you that's how you remember it, good for you, all I remember is we were turned down for a stonewall pen in the last minute ...

Then you’re burying your head in the sand. Don’t take your lack of comprehension out on us. You sound like a scouser

I do not expect us to spend anything in January, and with Dier, Dembele, Wanyama and Vertonghen all expected to return, and Rose already rehabilitated, we do not need anything in January that we cannot wait until the summer for. Even if we did buy in January I think any new signing would take 2-3 months to acclimatise to Poch's methods anyway.

The fact we were even so close to the top at Xmas was a misnomer.... no home ground, no investment in the summer, 9 players with no pre-season etc. This year was all about trying to stay in the top 4. To have a title push we need to heavily invest in top drawer players to improve us, and the main area we need to invest in is central midfield. Will Levy spend £100M on a top CM in the peak of his career to take us up a level? If I was Poch that is what I would be asking myself before deciding whether to go to ManU or Real Madrid.
If that's the question Poche asks himself then we're fucked. There have only been 3 £100m players, and 2 of those play for PSG. In fact, out of the c.40 £50m+ players, only van Dijk, Lemar, Aubameyang, Alisson and Keita play for clubs you wouldn't necessarily have associated with insane transfer fees.

You think we were well beaten by both teams this year? We looked like gash against City last year, 4-1 and it could have been more. This year not so much.

Why do fans blow things out of proportion. We could have ended up with a 2-2 draw with Liverpool and people would have told us how lucky we were ... It would have been a draw ...
That’s the thing; we were crap against Liverpool for 70 minutes then could have (and should have, with the right decision) got a draw. Same with City- in fact that was a much closer game. We can match them technically but mentally we seemed less switched on during those games

Why are you getting so angry? Why do you care so much that I don't see it as well beaten, who the fuck are you trying to score brownie points with?

Yeah, that's football. Watford and Wolves are prime examples of this. Wolves could be fatigue, but Watford ... That was fucking infuriating.

How many times does Poch need to come out and say that it's unlikely we will do any business in January? , he's said it twice already.

Why has January all of a sudden become a key month when it's rarely been a time we spend money anyway?

Do you want to know the reason we and not many other teams spend in Jan? Because players are fucking expensive and cost far more han they would in the summer.

And what do you mean he should go to Real or Utd if he's not backed?

Why are fans whipping themselves into a frenzy over this next transfer window since the news that Utd will be looking for a new manager? This window has never been the make or break one - some people really need to understand that.

It's always hard to sign players. Particularly so if you are a club called Tottenham hotspur.

Other clubs seem to manage it though.

Mate don't do it to yourself the club will not spend in January as it couldn't spend during the summer, and as for levy spending 100m on a CM like when would that happen shave 70-75m of that figure and you might be closer to the mark but seriously if you set the expectation level low that way it at least can be matched rather than be left dissapointed.(y)

Not that we haven't spent in Jan before and broken the club transfer fee record either.

Crank that narrative up though, it fits like a glove for you.

Sorry darling I know you get upset and touchy around this time of the month( I have a wife plus 2 of my 3 kids are girls so I know the score modern man and all that), but if you read it properly you will notice that I signed off with a happy emoji which signified that I was injecting some humour into a tense thread made worse by you and your monthly but of course you keep feeding your narrative.

I think it’s largely because fans create narratives in their heads rather than look at reality.

Nothing Poch has ever said or done has suggested he goes against the board and will leave if he doesn’t get something he wants.

Despite this people seem to believe Poch will leave if we don’t spend big in the transfer window.

It is pretty baseless. Much like my Arsenal mate who tells me Kane is leaving every window.

He can get more money, trophies etc elsewhere. But the reality is he hasn’t left so the reasoning is flawed.
