I’d love to sign both him and that Georgian fella Chakvetadze from the other side - Gent.

Would pay up to £25 mill for him. Before he signs for saints or Dortmund and is then worth £50 mil. Looks to be a great deep lying playmaker which we lack in midfield and will allow winks more responsibility to break lines.

I agree. If they had crashed out of Europa League he'd prob be far easier to get but since they progressed they'll not want to lose him.

I wouldn’t agree to this. Why agree to loan him back after agreeing to buy for a decent fee. We take the gamble of him getting an injury whilst playing for them.

Liverpool did it with Keita for a full year.

Exactly- I get the feeling they’re ahead of the curve with transfers in this hyper inflated market we’re in

Strange considering how behind their fans claimed they were only a few transfer windows ago. Ayre frustrated Liverpool fans window after window. I wonder what changed?

There is a large amount of luck involved. They will return to the mean over the next few years.

It helps that they reached a CL final and they are spending serious cash.

Exactly. The winners are always right and the model to look up to. Whether it be Citys spending, Leicester's scouting or Utd's youth policy back in the day. Its always the model heralded as 'the best way'.

Its why this boring line of 'why didn't we copy Liverpool' and 'we would be where Liverpool are with spending' is boring. They threw A LOT of shit at the wall before some stuck. They outspend us repeatedly and finished below us. Yes, it helps to improve but chucking extra money and extra agents fees at teams isnt everything.

Its an argument that completely ignores teams that have spent but are below us, Utds expensive squad or even chelseas for example.

Sorry, that's a tangent, just fed up of seeing the name Liverpool everywhere. Five seasons they've exceeded 75mil in spending and no one gave a shit before april.

If we want him for the future and not the next six months I'm ok with that. It secures a player we want and he will be all ready for a complete pre-season.
