I am getting so annoyed with this bullshit about VVD being the best player in the world. In that situation he had a choice to make either go to the ball and leave the pass open or try and stick himself somewhere in between which is what he did. I guarantee you that 95% of premier league defenders would have done the same as what he did. He still left a free shot from the centre of goal from 10 yards for Sissoko to put it anywhere that he wanted, yet somehow he manages to miss. You are honestly telling me that in that split second that he had to decide what to do he remembered that Sissoko cant shoot without tripping over his own feet and left him run through on goal on purpose? Do me a favour, he did what most defenders would have and should have done yet this is used as evidence that he is the greatest defender since Beckenbuer.
On the replay you'll see couldn't have positioned himself any better, he stopped us from scoring 2 on 1, not sure what more you want from him. If you want to include me in some BS VVD club go ahead, but don't think I've complimented him in any other threads though so not sure if I qualify as a VVD bullshitter...

Harry Kane barely touched the ball this game, but when he did, he was quality.

Superb ball for Lucas equalizer. Why the fuck that the team don't they play through him more often? Eriksen has been a bit shite lately.

Kane is just magnificent and if he isnt scoring he is being involved

Liverscum had a 20 minute spell in the entire game... one 10 minute spell after they scored and the 10 minutes after we scored YET we created the best one or two chances...

Its just so demoralising

First game at the new stadium is now a must-win against palace, having lost 4 of our last 5.

What a fucking embarrassment.

I’d rather look after our own shit and try and get in the top four

If Pool win the league then they deserve it. They invested in the right players and overpaid a little to get the ones who’d make the difference. We just sat on our hands. It’s no surprise that we’ve gone in different directions.

Encouragement comes from that second half performance. We really did make Liverpool look second rate.

Whatever we did - whatever shape we played with Verts, Sissoko and Dele completely taking the game away from Liverpool should be the template for City games.

Today is done

We have 5 home games in our amazing new stadium against no real massive opponent, if we fuck it up then we don't deserve anything.

It is certainly going to add a new dimension to the first game experience. Every home game is going to be squeaky bum time from now on.

April fools Day tomorrow.....

The day that Arsenal will most likely go ahead of us.

Just to rub it in!

They stole our north London turf, our tradition of attacking football and our scumbag captain.

But they’ll never steal our crown as king of the ‘banter clubs’ as the kids call it.

We're a broken team this season, Injuries and pre-season (and injuries because of pre-season) fucked us. Our stats for running during a match have decreased massively, down there with the bottom teams. That cannot be a coincidence.

We've hung on this season but now it's really taking it's toll.

Kane is well off the pace as is Alli, he will always be quality but can only break a jog ATM and was nowhere near any chance, even when he did get a bit of space it took him so long to shoot that it was blocked around the back.

Next season with a pre-season under our belt we will be a different proposition.

I just hope the end of this season isn't too damaging for us mentally (players, fans and staff...)

Yeah true, but I think the idea we just need to win all our home games may be misguided. It may be enough, but it’s far from certain.

Point is any player must leave if he want to achieve anything. We're a stepping stone club where you can develop and work out your mistakes. Just get out before it's too late. Vertonghen stayed too long, should have been a Barca regular and won lots. Modric and Bale was smart, let's see about Kane and Eriksen - nothing left for them to do here.

What a sad and profound statement

Totteham Hotspur under little Daniel Levy have nothing to offer to players with ambitions to win trophies amymore

This is precisely what he did. It speaks more to the level of Sissoko’s notoriety than it does Van Dijk’s genius to be honest, but it was still a good defensive call. 90% of the time as a defender you deal with the immediate danger, possibly whilst trying to limit the angle to Son. In this case he literally blocked Son and let Sissoko wonder in freely. It is what it is.

We missed Winks I think big time.
