Liverpool:

Match: ____ English Premier League (EPL) - Day 32

When: ____ Sunday 31st March 2019

Where: ____ Anfield

Kick Off: ____ 4:30pm

Referee: ____ Martin Atkinson

Team Form: _____ L'pool WDWWW ______ Spurs LLDWL ____ (All competitions)

We have won just one of our last 12 EPL games against Liverpool (W1 D4 L7), winning 4-1 at Wembley on 2017. Liverpool have lost just one of their last 24 home EPL games against us (W15 D8 L1), a 0-2 defeat in May 2011 under Dalglish. We are winless in our last 4 EPL games (D1 L3). We last went 5 without a win in the same competition back in Feb - Mar 2012 under Harry Redknapp.

Kane has been involved in 4 goals in 4 EPL games against Liverpool at Anfield (3 goals 1 assist). Poch has never won against Klopp at Anfield in 4 meetings in all competitions (D2 L2). His only victory away against Liverpool was as Southampton Manager in September 2013 when the Reds were managed by Rodgers.

After a run that saw him score 11 goals in 12 games in all competition between Dec and Feb, Son has failed to score in his last 5 appearances for us. Indeed, each of Spurs last 4 goals in all competitions have been netted by Kane.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 36 home EPL matches. If they avoid defeat against us, it will be the joint second longest unbeaten home run in the competition's history, Man City 37 (2010-20120). Liverpool has conceded 6 goals in their 5 EPL home games in 2019, as many as they had in their previous 17 at Anfield.

Only Sergio Aguereo (10) has scored more EPL goals 2019 than Liverpool's Sadio Mane (9), witht eh 8 coming in the last 9 games.

My Mrs has buggered me up again for this one.

Having missed the Chelsea 1st leg semi and having hadto watch the BD 2nd leg on my iPad in the local hospital the old lady decided to have a suspected heart attack and has been in hospital since midday Thursday. Having loads of tests and other stuff before angiogram on Monday.

So it's COYLW's do your best, I'll try to follow somehow. Hospital wifi etc.

I’m going to avoid watching this one- I’ve been put on probation by the clan for my terrible funks following our recent performances. That’s 1930s funks, not the James Brown variety

Dreading this one, think we'll get a hiding. Really hope we set up to play the way we did against Dortmund away. If we make to 30 mins without conceding we might stand a chance, but fully expecting Trippier/Sanchez/lloris to gift them a goal early on.

They don't need to be gifted goals. They're more than capable of scoring 3-4 at Anfield without any such encouragement.

please don't shit the bed again Spurs... please. I'm fed up of feeling optimistic of this fixture only for us to shoot ourselves in the foot.

If our defenders and Lloris do their usual thing of knocking it around like it's a training match against their press it could be more than that.

It alarms the fans, sometimes including me, but it scarcely ever causes a problem. There have been virtually no examples when it has cost us goals. I can't think of one this season. I expect there have been 1-2 in the entire season, maximum.

And it's blatantly obvious that it isn't "the defenders and Lloris" doing it. It's done on instructions from Pochettino, as a part of our playing style. Do you think they just do it for fun, against the manager's will? Of course not. He's had them practicing it for hours on the training ground.

Got no hope whatsoever about today’s game. Possibility we could sneak a draw if we play like we did Dortmund away, but just can’t see it. Liverpool are hunting for the title and going to be far to strong for us unfortunately. I just don’t think we are good enough.

Going to do everything I possibly can to miss this game. We always lose and I’ve so many mates that are Liverpool “fans” I hate the match so much.

With our midfield injuries I just can’t see us winning and we will play into their hands as usual I suspect despite Poch having three weeks to devise a plan or realise how other teams have beaten or nullified them.

But if our gk & defence play like they did in the first half at Dortmund , then we might limit them to just 2 goals. :cautious:

The bets are on:

Fivers on
Harry Kane to score a header 14/1
Dele to score a header 18/1
Son to score from outside the area 18/1

Tenners on
Harry Kane to score from outside the area 20/1
Dele to score from outside the area 40/1

COYS!

I have zero optimism for this one anyway. Expecting clanger o'clock, just like recent weeks. Fingers crossed the lads prove me wrong, as they're much better than they have been recently. Just hope we come out with fire in our bellies from the off.
