Let's be honest if we somehow got through to the final I doubt it now the form we are in but if so can you imagine the embarrassment pitching ourselves against a Barcelona with the shit tactics and formations it doesn't bear thinking about.

We'd obviously have players back by then should we get through, the setup was largely contributed to because of the players missing...Even Son would have made a huge difference last night.

That's my one main criticism...it takes far too long for the alarm bells to ring with Poch. He seems oblivious at times when the game is clearly going against him and the team is getting battered.
I would love to see some stats regarding the timing of his substitutions that are made not through injury
To bring someone on with just ten minutes left and expect them to have an immediate impact is optimistic to say the least.
He seems to want to trust the player's that they will turn it around but if it's obvious that the tide is against you fucking change it up, poch seems to have a real blindspot with stuff like this it may have cost us a chance to make history really disappointing.

Oh, come on!!!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Eriksen was right, we made them look better than they are in the fist half hour, paid them way too much respect and they got too much time on the ball.

When we changed the formation they shit themselves and went into their shell.

A full strength team with Winks and Sissoko and Kane and Son with Trippier nowhere to be seen and we run out easy winners of that tie.

Change it up how. U saw the bench. There wasnt an attacking player to be seen as they are all injured

Managed to go yesterday and have had time to reflect.

That 1st 30 mins was arguably the worst I've seen us play in my 25 year of supporting Spurs. It was absolutely pathetic.

How the fuck can you be leggy in a CL semi final.

Dele was a disgrace and by far the worst player on the pitch. No effort which was bizzare.

Trips, Llorente and Wanyama also really poor.

Pretty embarrassing really and shows the huge work that has to be done in the summer.

Spoke to quite a few that would be happy to see Llorente stay for another season which was very odd.

Not Poch's best game neither.

Still in it.

Thought I'd have a say....

We are still very much in the tie. First half hour they were fantastic, albeit helped by our tactics and looking extremely anxious.

We are so depleted it's actually unbelievable, and the fact that we are very much still in it is credit to Poch. The fact we're still on course and in our hands to finish top 4, again is credit to Poch.

I swear, and I've said it before, only when Poch is gone will some realise what we've got/had.

We cannot win every game. We cannot dominate every game. I do think there's a feeling from some that we should at the very least dominate teams, regardless of opposition.

We look tired, mentally and physically. But we have spirit. Nobody can knock the effort last night. And spirit can carry you.

I absolutely believe and think we will get a result in Amsterdam. And if we don't every single one of us should be immensely proud for what this team has given us this season.

I appreciate some of the other poster's feel it's not over and whilst we might bag a goal I feel it will be just a consolation with our defence that just keeps leaking goals because Ajax will score again.

It seems for some their excitement in the build up to such a tie was for the joy they’d find in us failing.

Same posters who seem to be calling out the mentality and effort of our players.

Cracking work fellas.

We were dominating the game and had most of the ball when you post.
The game had a long way to go.
Most of the 2nd half was in their half and they were doing fk all. No we didnt have much goal threat but we wont with Llorente up front and Son and Kane missing.
You asked 'why are we not playing?'
I'd have thought that was obvious with the players we have missing.
You cant take 40+ goals out of any team, plus a weakend midfield, and look just as good. What did you expect?
Poor form with the name calling btw numb nuts ;)

What did I expect? Much more intensity and commitment for a start. Eriksen was so quiet it was unreal. Needed a lot more from him and Dele.

Look, even with our injuries, we just didn't perform to a good enough level.

Honestly that shouldn't need explaining, it was so clear to see.

We are extremely lucky that it's only 0-1. Still have a chance of progressing but it will take a huge improvement performance wise.

On a positive note, a strong and fresh Ajax didn't take their chance to put a wounded Spurs down.

I wonder if they'll regret that...

They gotten abit complacent I thought. I really hope we can do one over them at their turf. We are so much more capable than last night.

Reading the posts in this thread since the final whistle, I'm surprised to see so many people so confident of us going to Amsterdam and getting the win at their gaffe. I can't see that at all myself, but I desperately hope that I'm wrong and you confident-types are right.

perspective eh ...on another day, we could've scored 1 or 2 of those headers and won the game 2-1 (whilst still being shit) and this place would be all gung-ho cos we got the result. Fact is, we have a number of players off form or playing positions they're not used to. Trippier has been a liability all season (WC got to his head I think) and Alli has played a number of positions but seems to have lost his edge in games - he doesn't needle opposition & tends to lose the ball a lot. How much can we expect from llorente when the delivery from flanks are piss poor. Rose for all his endeavour has never had an end product and Eriksen is either not arsed or lost his mojo. Wanyama has played 4 games since his return - all big games! He looked shot today but again, what should we expect from him?

For me, I think the loss add perspective to the players & coaching staff. We go there next week to win ..for that we need to score goals. See the City game - the fact they attacked us meant we could capitalise. If we create some chances and score early, it will force Ajax to try to score again and that could well play into our hands. I think we're a much better side with Son's movement and he can score from anywhere so will force their defence to think differently which could open opportunities for Moura or Eriksen. Poch made a mistake with a back 3 but next week, he needs to trust Foyth at RB and play Davies from the start (bring rose on later). Give Dier a go as DMF and allow Sissoko to play a more attacking MF role to run at them. They're a fantastic side but we made them look better than they are - if we get our tactics right and seize our chances, we will go thru I believe. Frankly, the positive for me is that our players gave it their all and we can't be as bad as we were tonight - chin up everyone ...there's everything to still play for & knowing what we have to do to go through gives us the clarity and purpose to go out & do it! COYS! COYS! COYS!!

I like you

I know that I am never allowed an opinion on here where your concerned but these formations and tactics have been going on all season even when we have had a decent team out, don't get me wrong I like poch but he has seriously got it wrong a lot this year and last night was an opportunity missed imo.

Do you know how a forum works? You make a post and people respond and vice versa, nothing to do with not being allowed to voice an opinion.

Yeah granted he's got it wrong a few times with that annoying formation and had had to change it up as we've been on the back foot (Dortmund/Liverpool) but last night was due to injuries so I don't think he can be blamed.

I think we will know in a few days but if the Doctor thought he was initially ok to come back on then I dont think it was too bad but bad enough to have been withdrawn. We will see because he is vital.
Did you see him come off? His leg was limp and he was out of it, looked awful.
