Moura does not affect games half as much as he should given his talent and especially his pace and deceptive leap. However, his second touch is very heavy and often he only beats people in a head down, speed wobble way before getting fouled, and all because of his heavy second touch. That said, the Moura away at Old Trafford or Ajax is a cool and clinical finisher who has way more end product than Zaha. I think he needs to play centrally as a second striker (Moura) and get in behind teams on the counter, and against teams that park the bus he is ineffective from a wide position. Zaha much more suited to a wide forward role with us against teams who sit deep due to his ability to beat people in tight spaces.

It means technically he is still employed by us until his contract ends at the end of this month. I'm sure if he is released we'll release a statement next week.
Ok. The list on the PL website also indicates players that have been made offers to stay and he wasn't one of those, so I think we can probably assume he's off. Even without him (and others missing from the retained list) we, in theory, have 27 players (before signings) that would need to be registered to play in the PL. So Zaha or Lo Celso coming in would probably mean the departure of Lamela as well.

Well, to be fair, Palace don't have Harry Kane to give the ball to once Zaha's burst into space ;)
I know where you are going with this but how often is Kane hitting the edge of the box when there is that sort of breakaway. If someone is going to tear away from defenders you want them be like Bale/Son and put it in the back of the net

This is not Zaha specific, but was listening to a Podcast where they talked about Eriksen. Whilst he is our most productive player in terms of assists, he clearly had spells last season where he dropped off. The question on the podcast was whether Spurs are better off convincing Eriksen to stay but risking the same sort of form from him or, should we cash in and replace him with someone new to the club who perhaps has the desire to take on the new challenge and as such perform?

Tough call. Interesting though that Pochettino wants to keep the players who last summer called him and asked to leave. He wanted us to keep these players as they showed ambition. Back on topic, I wonder if Zaha has that sort of ambition any longer or if he is comfortable being the big fish in the little pond.

Pochettino clearly loves him which should be reason enough for us to sign him, but also if we have any designs to play a 4-3-3 then a signing like Zaha is essential as we're pretty light on wide players. His ability to beat a man is unrivalled. He also draws fouls, creates space for others and against teams that sit deep, a player with his talents would be a massive asset for us. I think he's quite a significant upgrade on Lucas personally, he's certainly more consistent and Lucas actually rarely beats a man when playing as a natural winger and has generally been better as a forward for us.

On a personal level, whilst we've had great players since, I think Zaha could get me off my seat in a way that we've not really seen since the days of Bale and Lennon on the wings. He's the type of player that you get excited when they pick up the ball in an attacking position.

Says that he favours a move to Arsenal, Arsenal were confident with Champions League funds but they can't afford him now at the price Palace want so might need to shift players to make move happen.

For those unfamiliar with Ornstein, he is as close to a player holding the shirt for Arsenal as possible in regards to ITK.

Arsenal really do seem to be in a dire situation this summer. Massive opportunity for us to open a significant gap between our clubs if we get this window right.

Didn't Zaha come out and outright say he wanted a CL-club? Would be weird to prefer a move to Arsenal.

Thought the same, he did one of those Instagrammy answer question doo dads a couple of weeks later and was asked who he supports and he said Arsenal and that he still does.

He wants CL. We all know that he has been speaking to Poch prior to this season, when there was a great desire to join us. If nobody else comes in, and goons somehow find the resources to sign him, I think it would happen. Hi

Have absolutely no problem with him going arsenal for £70m which they couldn’t really afford, why they’re not strengthening their defence properly amazes me

I don't see Palace selling AWB and Zaha in the same window.

They'll be asking for relegation. I still think GLC is more likely to happen than this one.

I see what you are saying but I think that assumes they don't immediately reinvest, which they almost certainly would. They've been hovering midtable with those two, maybe they figure they can get younger, pay lower wages on potential who maybe develop into movable assets for the future, and maybe find their way to Europa in a couple years. I don't think that scenario is totally unlikely.

I'm a bit confused by Hercules post. If Zaha wants Champions League football why would he go to Arsenal?

They might not be in it this season but much better chance than Palace going forwards I guess, if nobody already in the CL meets Palace's valuation.

"I want Champions League football" is pretty much footballer shorthand for "I want to join a bigger club and earn more money". Arsenal satisfy those criteria.

I just hope he doesn't have any regular engagements on Thursday nights.
