My take on this Dybala stuff is that we heard that Juventus were open to selling him and we had a sniff about to see what was what.

Whether it progressed beyond an initial enquiry and how serious we were, only a few will probably ever know.

I think that despite all the talk of net spending this summer, realistically the reason that the transfers of Lo Celso, Sessegnon and especially Dybala have hit the brakes is because we expected to sell Eriksen and Toby for decent money. Now that that's not happening, there's no way we're going to be spending £150m.

Hope he doesn't end up at United, and can't understand at all why you'd swap him for Lukaku, but I can't see him ending the window a Spurs player.

Not sure why anyone thinks Lukaku wouldn’t be a great signing for any top Italian side, he’d score a shit load of goals in that league!

Only thing that I can’t work out is why Juventus would be offering Dybala in exchange when he’s probably worth more and got a much higher ceiling...
It's not a question of Lukaku's quality but his tactical suitability for Sarriball. Sarri has very specific ideas for what he wants from his players (playing Kante in a box-to-box role, etc), it's hard to imagine him wanting a player whose ability to contribute to build-up play is as poor as Lukaku's.

On a serious note, Dybala is pretty overrated.

I've not seen him have a good game for Juventus. Apart from the one he scored in against us.

Where’d you reckon he plays for them? Can’t see him playing up top on his own. If he plays CAM with Pogba and mctominay they’ll get torn to shreds

Front 3 of Rashford, Dybala, Martial

Eriksen is wanted by Juve too, surely that swap deal would make more sense... Oh well, was fun to think we could actually make a blockbuster statement signing for all of a week or two. Back to being Spurs I spose

Fine if he wants to waste his time at Man U. Solskjær will win them nothing, and they won't make top 4.

Just sign Lo Celso and get Eriksen on a new contract please
Not saying Dybala wouldn't have been great but I'm rather looking forward to seeing some of Parrott this season. Kane, Son, Moura and Parrot is still great.

Two options. Either we are well out of this, and are keeping quiet to pressure Betis. Or we are in it, and Levy is just waiting for this thread to hit 200 pages before the announcement.

I can live with the fact that it wasn’t possible to sign him but the thought of watching him play for United makes me feel physically sick if I’m honest.
