At Leicester Drinkwater was the holding midfielder, it's amazing how people can twist reality in order to fit a narrative.

Yeh its true but kante's role was fundamentally defensive. Namely winning the ball and putting players under pressure. Without another holder you would end up leaving massive gaps midfield.

Klopp was an idiot for not strengthening his team in the summer. They really need a good number 10. They had a lot of luck last season.

I would imagine he would've if he was allowed, he aint the one who writes the cheques.
I mentioned prior to this season that i just dont think they will be as good as last season particularly defensively. They are an excellent team no doubt and have a great forward line but their midfield is a bit shit and stale.
I agree with you totally and i do think theyll be top four but not a given they will be 2nd.

On 5live, they just said that Lampard is playing the exact same formation that Sarri was trying to use, with the addition of a player that was signed during Sarri's tenure.
Seems very Chelsea.

I think they need a number 8, none of their midfielders are capable of dictating the play.
I don't think they'll get away with that this season.

Question about the disallowed goal, why did the flag only go up after the ball hit the net? He was clearly offside and the flag should have gone up the moment he touched the ball

Because the lineswoman let play go on until the phase was finished as per the new instruction with VAR available.

They cant be as lucky with injuries this season surely. Mane missed 2 games last season, firmino 4, Salah and van dijk played every single game

It's a shame because for such a great player, Zidane does come across as a massive ****! Not sure what he brings to the table as a manager.
