The fact that Zokora was captain for tonights crap fest.

I think maybe JOl and hughton were taking the piss when they decided on it. Who in thier right mind would make such a shi* footballer the captain of our great club. I was embarrassed by this total pis* take of our squad and must say it was more than a joke... He ran around like a headless chicken for the time he was on and then no-one cheered him or clapped him at all when he came off.

I am happy that Jol and hughton are gone and look forward to things being changed around for sundays game.

Come on you spurs - Lets get back to where we belong in the league...

Arsenal to lose against Liverpool and us to beat blackburn to take us up!

who would you have made captain tonight ?

The ball boy would have made a better captain...

I would have made Chimbonda captain over that waste of space Zokora. If I had my way he never would have graced our beloved white hart lane.

So with Keane rested and Dawson deservedly dropped, who would you have given the armband to?

The fact that we had no better alternative than Zokora to wear the armband tells you why we are third from bottom in the Premiership.

So Zokora getting the arm band explains to you why we're third bottom?

Strange.

Choose 1 from Cerny, Chimbonda, Gardner, Kaboul, Lee, Lennon, Hudd, Malbranque, Defoe or Berbatov

We had no captain material on the pitch tonight so any of them could've worn it. What does it matter anyway? We've been playing without a leader all season.

So as opposed to giving the armband to the bloke who was our best player against newcastle, Liverpool, Bolton to name but three or the bloke that has the highest pass completion rate in the premiership, you would have given it to the stupid prick who cost us the first goal tonight and several other goals this season through his inabilty to do his fucking job.

It was either Gardner or Zokora. Personally I don't care which as both are better at their jobs than that stylish prick Chimbonda.

I simply cannot believe no one has definitively said that Defoe should have been captain. The fact that he wasn't is bloody disgraceful and the fact that Zokora was is bloody ludicrous. He was our longest serving player on the pitch and that should have given him the right to be captain. Now I know that "longest serving" doesn't necessarily make captain material, but considering there was no TRUE leader on the pitch, what else would there be to go on? This is a man who had the option to pack his bags and get out the door of WHL but decided he still had a future with the club and loyally stayed. The least the club can do is make him 4th choice captain, or in my opinion, 3rd
choice captain ahead of lousy Dawson. I'm so angry! :bang:

Zokora is clearly well respected in the dressing room, even if not in here. I think he was clearly the best candidate - but I agree with Eddie that that says a lot more about our squad than the Ivorian.

Lee would perhaps have been a sensible option, but he isn't exactly vocal. Zoko ticks most boxes.

No until gardner went off he was the longest serving player on the pitch so by you own standards gardner should have been captain to begin with.

You are very right. I completely forgot about Gardner. Part of me thinks it he have been a good choice, just because he deserves it and it would give him alot of confidence. But Defoe has spirit that he doesn't. Still disgraceful that none of them were picked.

This is off topic, but I thought Gardner was one of the few players to emerge tonight with any credit.

Not using Rocha and Gardner when they have been availaible and perservering instead with the Dawson-Kaboul partnership as been one of Jol's more disastrous decisions in the past few weeks.
