Ramos targets Alves and Kanoute
20071028 10:46 Juande Ramos hopes to sign star Sevilla duo Daniel Alves and Fredi Kanoute after being confirmed as the new manager of Tottenham. The 53-year-old Spaniard tendered his resignation with the UEFA Cup holders on Friday, with his first game in charge of Spurs expected to come against Blackpool in the Carling Cup on Wednesday, and has already lined up a double raid on his old club. Brazil international Alves, 24, was wanted by Chelsea in the summer but they refused to meet the £20million asking price. However, Ramos, who has signed a contract until 2011, hopes to lure Alves and former Tottenham striker Kanoute to White Hart Lane as part of his plot to propel the club back up the Premiership table. Ramos said: "I greatly appreciate the opportunity to work as head coach at Tottenham Hotspur, a club with a great tradition and history.
