Games like this made you realise how effective Sissoko can be from his directness sometimes. The dilly dallying from the midfield is doing me mad.

Very poor first half. We need to be more aggressive and press them more and higher up the pitch. When Lo Celso has the ball there’s no movement, no one he can pass it to. Dele and Bergwijn are trying but been poor so far. Bale has been anonymous pretty much the whole game + he doesn’t help Aurier at all in defence

Imo we need to use Carlos Vinicius like Kane, drop deeper and make space for Bergwijn and Bale behind

Our bench players can still make a big impact if it carries on like this

Seems like everyone is gassed. Even Reguilon looks slower than usual - not sure what's up with them tonight.

Still think people are massively overreacting though. It's a European away game with a changed team and lots of new signings. Lots of players are either coming back from injuries or have barely played - this kind of off day is practically guaranteed every now and then and you see it happen to even the very best teams sometimes. Better in Europa group game than an important league game.

I think Jose will give them a kick up the arse and we'll make some positive changes on 60 mins. I'd be surprised if we lose this.

Still 45 minutes to go. Was shit, but a lot of players out there are without any rhythm. No need to have a real go at them, lets just hope Jose can turn this around and it clicks at some point during the game.

So Dele off for peh I'd take reguillon off (Toby) as well I think he has been really poor. Then we look at the front line, son and Kane on at 60 mins if nothing has changed.

Some good and some bad and some very bad (Dele)

winks having none of hojbjerg's ball recovering ability means we're struggling to sustain pressure, not knocking winks, he's just not a defensive midfielder
So if he isn’t a defensive midfielder then that must make him an attacking midfielder??

Tbh I was never that blown away by him at PSV and I watched him quite a bit, wasn't really that hyped about buying him. But I am hoping I just didn't watch the games in which he shinned and will develop into a quality player. He has looked really poor this season tho, I have heard many a rumour that he isn't fully fit and assuming that's the truth.
Definitely isnt fit, got outpaced by a 35 year old.

Dele is done isn’t he. Been absolutely awful. Wrong decision after wrong decision. Slows the play down and doesn’t know when to pass. If he comes off then watch our attacking play improve.

It’s not just him. Been poor all over midfield and in the final third. They are not moving or providing options for the man on the ball. Very sluggish.

The one who is concerning me, in particular, is Bergwijn. He's looked someway off it this season. I don't know whether he's fully fit or not, but it looks like he's lost half a step of speed and mobility. Giving the ball away a fair bit so far and hasn't been able to beat his marker all half, one-on-one.

Saying all of that, he isn't exactly alone in looking below par in this match.

What the hell has happened to Bergwijn this season? He's fallen off a cliff.

Really disappointing that no one taking the opportunity and giving Jose a selection dilemma.

Dele, Winks, Bergwijn, Bale and even Lo Celso need to be playing out of their skin to impress Jose and get in the team but they've all been poor.
Lo Celso can only do so much with what's ahead of him. Zero movement ahead of him, he can rather force it forward or pass it backwards. He's trying but he doesn't have much he can do. Would like to see Lamela second half.

The front 4 look like 4 players who haven't played much football recently. They just aren't linking up. Vinicius has been OK, the other 3 have been pretty bad. Very poor half, Jose needs to put a rocket up their arse and make changes at 60 mins if no improvement.

Dele not doing himself any favours with that performance. Can’t say anyone is though tbh
This is the type of game Jose would be expecting Dele to control but I'm afraid that's seems to have gone on his 1st half performance. I hope he gets better 2nd half.

So far it's been suggested we need to bring on Kane, Son, Lamela, Ndombele and Hojberg and I for one am all for it. An unprecedented 5 man half time culling.
