The Prince and that rolled-up sleeves business

Moment of last night for me happened when the camera cuts to our 'ghetto' Prince on the bench to see him preparing to come on. Rather than the traditional warming-up exercises, he appears to be doing up his hair and rolling up his sleeves to show off his muscles.

First thought was that we had signed a bit of a bell-end. Then suddenly came to realise that there is a fine line between genius and madness and that he was treading it just perfectly. Next followed that scything tackle and a shot that nearly hit the corner flag. Now he comes up with the classic quote

"The last time I wished I wasn't somewhere was in London and I got lost. I was thinking 'wow, what shall I do now!'."

Couldnt care less if he was seen crimping and blowdrying his hair on the touchline... I was loving his eagerness during the game as was evident when he got that unfair booking. Also loved that he's not afraid to have a go and shoot, ok so he messed one or two up but at least he had the confidence to try it.

I like the look of him.

I think a lot of fans will have appreciated that tackle - yeah, he got a booking, yeah, he was way too keen coming in like that, but it was a fair tackle - the fact that them tackles are always 50/50 as to whether the ref agree's or not, and considering we were playing in the waffa cup, where the rules are all upsidedownontheirhead when it comes to fouls, he should've expected it to go against him.

We all remember the punishment for Robbo for actually winning the ball with a magnificent save, and the yellow that should've been a red, if there was inded a foul - the refs in europe are... lets say, "Special"

After his showing last night, next time he's on the bench for a game, or perhaps starts, you know that each player in the midfield will have that in the back of their head and, when receiving the ball will have to wonder if a missiles not about to come burning over their laces - it's good to have that aggression in the middle. If KPB does indeed have the kind of enthusiasm of Teemu, the pace and technique of Steed and more of them sliding toe-in tackles in his kitbag, we've found ourselves a real gem here...

Assume tongue is firmly in cheek there RSS

He looks really hungry for the ball and to get stuck in, which has been missing from our team a bit lately.

Ramos definitley likes him, probably why he was on his way to Sevilla before we came in at the last moment and signed him.

So did we buy him because we knew Juande Ramos was coming and he wanted him?

If not it still shows a synchronicity twixt Juande and Damien does it not?

As long PKB lays off the curlers he's alright by me.

I like this kid. Despite the 'Ghetto' image he's come across as anything but a Big I Am in his interviews. He's got his feet on the ground and realises he's got to earn himself a starting place.

That was a good old-fashioned tackle last night, and the card was definitely harsh.

And what's wrong with being a little bit Ghetto?

He did look a bit like the Village People with his sleeves rolled up. Wonder if he's going to be dressed like a camp sailor in the press soon.

Did love the tackle he put in. No wimping out - he really did show the rest of the team how to get stuck in which is something they've not done too often so far this season.

are we then indirectly praising comolli who brought him to the club when it was reported that Jol wanted someone with more experience?

But it wasn't like we got him instead of someone else.

And the bit in bold says it all. Especially as the words "by the Daily Mail" usually appear after it.

Who would win in an attention-seeking contest between him and Taraabt??!

I like him. Think he could be very effective for us.

Wonder who'll get the nod for JJ's spot... him or THudd? Both very different players, but could actually complement each other very well.

People need to remember that it was Monchi that scouted and bought the players for Seville not Ramos

Looks good. Probably the one player in our central midfield who I could see potentially developing into a really classy CM. He certainly has the physique, and the right attitude as well. Eager, but not too aggressive. Hard, but not a dirty player. And a little touch of arrogance which all the best players have, without being a twat like Ronaldo.

I think the main thing for me is that he has the physical power and pace of the best box-to-box midfielders. He's a bit like a fast version of the hudd without the same range of passing. I definately think he would be one of those players who would work well with any other type of CM, as his physical abilities and good touch on the ball, as well as a decent range of passing, allow him to both defend and attack effectively.

Could definately develop into a challenger to the Jenas/Zokora partnership.

Another exciting young player a-la Bale, Lennon and Taarabt. One of those who,if coached correctly, could really develop into a superstar.

Looking at these kids we have, one can only think that the future's bright, the future's Lilywhite!

I believe he is what we've been waiting a long time for. I do fear he could turn out to be our Fabio Rochemback though.
