Don't underestimate the momentum we're building from these results. The players will fully believe that they're capable of achieving anything this season

Liverpool in two weeks, that's the real test.

If we sit back and let them dominate play the same way we let Arsenal, they will score.
Let's not kid ourselves here, Arsenal are total rubbish, and not serious competition.
You could say the same for Man City and Chelsea though and they scored sweet FA.

Liverpool will undoubtedly be the biggest challenge yet but they are also vulnerable on the break, just as City and Arsenal were - especially given their high line. Look at what Villa did to them.

The romantic in me wants to see the side going forward, pulling sides apart with brisk exciting football. Mourinho though is a pragmatist. How many of us at half time smelt more goals today and would have been baying for them? The second half was a hard watch they were poor but I have seen enought derbies to know that a goal could so easily have changed things and once you give a side impetus it can be difficult to change that back.

I would be happy to beat them in any way and we are top of the League to boot. Anti football- its tactically and organisationally strong with two outstanding forwards in a League where defending has been poor for a while. I don't know if Mourinho's style of football is sustainable over two or three seasons but as a Spurs supporter I am happy but if I was watching it as a neutral I might have nodded off in the second half

What I find amusing is the idea that the way we're playing, somehow is easy and that any team could if they wanted to.

It's why you see comments like "They only sit back and then pass it to Kane and Son".

It's like it's beyond the realms of imagination that a solid defence takes time, effort and determination to achieve.

That wonderful 6-1 at Old Trafford must have been a figment of my imagination.

I just loved watching my team going up there every season and getting stuffed by fair means or foul.

Enjoying the moment we are in.

Yeah, but we maintained more sustained counterattacking pressure in both of those games, whereas today we kind of stopped after half time.

Also I fear Liverpool's front three far more than both City and Chelsea's.

I see it from totally the opposite perspective. You see controlling a game as dominating possession, having the most shots, corners, crosses et al. If we’re not doing that then we’re negative and “lucking out” against the dominant team.

What I see is us controlling the game by letting them have the ball in the areas WE want them to have it, allowing them to manoeuvre the ball around without penetrating with it. We then set traps and spring them. They might dominate the meaningless stats of shots, possession etc, but we dominate the meaningful ones, goals scored and quality chances created.

I’ve seen some worried on here about our conversion rate being so high, why? It is high because we are creating more clear chances and not wasting time with speculative shots that just pad out the stats. We’re about quality, not quantity. When you have that then your conversion rate will naturally be higher.

Personally I’m loving this Football. I find it intriguing from a tactical sense, exciting when we win the ball back and explode forward (look at Son, Kane, Reguilon et al bombing forward for our first goal, absolutely devastating). I’m also finding it a lot more comfortable to watch as my confidence grows more and more at our ability to nullify attacks.

Not a chance I’d give up watching us, I’m loving everything about how we’re developing as a team.

The feeling of having a reasonably competent defence without the cock-ups us absolutely wonderful too

Because despite being absolutely ubiquitous, she is no more insightful than any of the usual crop of pundits and really has no place commenting on top level football.
Haha...you've got some agenda there! How does she not belong in commenting on top-level football? 140 England caps and over 200 club games as a professional. Sounds pretty top-level to me.

I think you'll be surprised.

Man City is a simple case of shut down De Bruyne and you've shut down Man City. No Aguero is also huge, because Gabriel Jesus isn't even half the player Aguero is/was.

Frank Lampard didn't play with an attacking mindset, he made sure the defence were always playing deep enough to make our counterattacking extremely difficult.

Liverpool have Salah, Mane and Jota. That's a far bigger challenge to contain than both City and Chelsea.

Did we?

We sat back just as much in the 2nd half against Chelsea as we did today - except today we had a 2 goal cushion which surely makes it far more justifiable.

Ehh, I think I still prefer we keep up the counterattacking. Wouldn't hurt to beat them 4-0 to be honest.

Sure it wouldn't hurt but the entire essence of Jose's philosophy is why risk losing a 2-0 lead to win 4-0 when it means you might draw 2-2.

After drawing 3-3 with West Ham after bringing on Bale we, of all teams, should remember this.

You might not like it which is fine - that's just your opinion - but it's hard to deny the effectiveness.

That was literally a one in a million shot, and we had Davinson Sanchez playing.

West Ham also have an objectively better front three than Arsenal right now.

That was literally a one in a million shot, and we had Davinson Sanchez playing.
But prior to the wonder goal we allowed them to get back to 3-2 by bringing on an attacker who didn't track back. We gave them a tiny glint of an opportunity and they took it.

Jose is taking away that glint from the opposition. And it's working.
