@cliff jones, are you disagreeing Lamela's been good recently or that Lucas scored our only goal versus West Ham?

cant you work that out for yourself?

Lamela has done no more than ok in my opinion, there’s hardly ever any end product because he holds on to it too long- Tanguy slipped him in a couple of times towards the end of the first half at the weekend andhe just didn’t connect with our front three.

he’s always good for a yellow though which makes me fkin nervous afterwards.

Bring him on for Bale after 65.

Cheers

It's going to be a bit of a headache picking the two who should start out of Dele, Bale and Lamela (maybe you can add Moura to that list too), but that's a good problem to have (at last)! I think Bale definitely should start (unless his fitness is still a problem), since he's clearly one of the most gifted finishers we have, perhaps the most gifted one.

............................... Lloris ...........................
Aurier ... Sanchez ... Dier ... Reguilón
............... Ndombele .... Hojbjerg ........
Bale .................... Lamela ................. Son
................................ Kane .............................

Lloris
Tanganga
Toby
Rodon
Reggie

Tanguy
PEH

Bale
Lamela
Son

Kane

I don't for a minute think he'll select this side but do think Bale's inclusion is certain. I also think Lamela on current form and attitude should start in the 10 role in front of Lucas and Dele

Let's really go on the front foot - COYS

I would play Dele instead of Lamela. Keep Lamela back if we need someone to run around a lot and get in peoples faces. Dele has far more end product as generally does better as a starting player than a sub.

Yeah, I'm happy with either of them starting, and maybe it should be Dele as he would feel the obligation to reciprocate to Mou's vote of confidence. I just picked Lamela because with him we usually know what we're gonna get, but with Dele that's a bit of an unknown as of late.

I just wanted you to elaborate, given that he was voted by members of this forum as our MOTM against Chelsea, West Brom, Everton, and widely considered our best player before being subbed off against West Ham.

I'm pretty sure that no one that started against Wolfsberger will also start against Burnley. This means that Toby (unfortunately) and Dier (thankfully) won't be part of the CB-pairing. It will probably be Rodon-Sanchez then. RB is a toss up between Aurier and Tanganga. Reguilon on LB.

PEH and Ndombele as the CM-pairing, and Son, Bale and Lucas in the three behind Kane, even if Alli definitely deserves some minutes, and could be key to winning.

If he starts with Rodon and Sanchez he deserves the sack! The next three games are must win. No ifs, no buts, no time for excuses.

I'd like to see Tanganga and Rodon start as our CB pairing for the rest of the league season.

--------------------Lloris---------------------
Aurier----Tanganga------Rodon------Reguilon
------------Hojbjerg---Ndombele------------
----Bale-----------Dele------------Son--------
--------------------Kane------------------------

The font 6 is given now.

I'd wish he'd settle for a constant CB-pairing in the league as well. The constant chopping and changing in central defence is making the team unsettled.

Got to be Toby-Rodon or Toby-Tanganga in the league for the rest of the season for me (injuries permitting). Sanchez can cover, and Dier can be emergency cover.

If Lucas starts its quite honestly a bit of a joke. If we're gonna play against a mid/low block without much attacking structure the least can we do is play our best technicians and most intelligent footballers (i.e Bale). Starting Lucas in a system that effectively relies on individual brilliant and ingenuity against a team like Burnley is so counter-productive.

Three games in 7 days, no chance he doesn't rotate a little bit in each game especially with another EL game before the NLD to come.

I won't be surprised to see Lamela ahead of Dele from the start due to his tenacious nature but I'd like Dele to start considering we've got the extra day of rest compared to normal EL time.

I also won't be shocked if Davies starts as he did @ Burnley but I'd hope we start aggressively with Reggie now that he's back.

The CBs are an obvious conundrum. Dier and Sanchez has been an obvious shit show. But Burnley, and Barnes in particular, are ultra physical, so I can see one of those two playing to combat that, it just depends on who plays with that one. I'd love to see Toby in there but seems to be limited to a game a week right now. It could well be Rodon and Sanchez as Rodon should be able to deal with Barnes aggressively enough.

What I'd like to see:
Lloris
Serge Toby Rodon Reggie
PEH Ndombele
Bale Dele Son
Kane
What I think wont be surprised to see:
Lloris
Serge Sanchez Dier Davies
PEH Ndombele
Bale Lamela Son
Kane

When you look at the views of Lamela and Moura there are those for and those against mostly in the extreme .
It brings to mind the lyrics of a Paul Simon song " one mans ceiling is another mans floor . I think that quite sums up many peoples views .
Lots can't stand Lamela and lots appreciate what he brings to team ditto Moura .If one view is correct the opposing view must be wrong it really is a dilemma.. Perhaps somewhere in the middle is the correct view ? I dont know for myself I rate Lamela for his effort and bravery and never say die . Moura is like a dog with a balloon but his effort deserves praise and in my eyes should not be s starter but an impact sub would suit the way he plays .

Wouldn’t mind Son sitting this one out in place of Bale. He needs a break / rest as his form is awful.

I would play:

.................................... Kane ..............................
........... Alli ................ Lamela ........... Bale .........

but only if both Reguilon and Aurier are fit as otherwise we’ll have little to no pace in the team.
