We will get the team we want and they will stink out the place again and Mourinho will say he was right all along lol
Nothing like being positive.

I think 8 of our 11 are nailed on as our best 11 on paper. It's only RB, and the two CBs that imo are up for debate. Ability wise with what we have in the squad Lloris, Reguilon, PEH, Ndombele, Dele, Bale, Son and Kane are head and shoulders above the rest. Whether they are the best on balance is another matter with Lamela and GLC the two most likely to press for spots in that team with their work rate although both have to prove their fitness. Bale, imo, has ability that is way above the problem of him not being able to play 90 mins 3 times a week.

Think it's safe to say Aurier is nailed on as our first choice RB as well.

One good performance against a 5th place Austrian team doesn't make a start for me.

Bale has put in quite a few good performances recently and deserves his start as does lamela.

Lloris
Tanganga. Alderweireld. Rodon. Reguillon
Ndombele. Hoijberg
Bale. Lamela. Son
Kane

Dele comes on if lamela isn't performing.

Aurier plays if fit. Toby is the only centre back that deserves a start IMO.

This is my team although knowing José the centre backs may be different.

Jose is WAY too stubborn to listen to an expert like me (lol) but this is what I'D like see

Lloris/Hart
Aurier - Toby - Rodon - Reguilon
PEH - Ndombele
Bale - Dele - Son
Kane

So are we back to full strength this weekend?

Hopefully GLC can make the bench and Aurier starts.

Back to? Can you (or anyone) remember the last time we were ever actually at full strength?

That's not a dig by the way mate. It's honestly a genuine question because, for the life of me I can't think of when we were able to select from a fully fit squad (no idea what our "full strength team" would be either, ty be honest).

I just wanted you to elaborate, given that he was voted by members of this forum as our MOTM against Chelsea, West Brom, Everton, and widely considered our best player before being subbed off against West Ham.

people vote for him because of his never say die attitude and I admire that in him too- but someone playing in his position needs to affect the game much more offensively.

plus everyone else has been total shit for weeks- including him at west ham- one good run excepted

I am taking bets on how many games Lo Celso plays before he is injured again . Sorry to be flippant but we seem to have some players who out of the team more than they are in it . It is so frustrating and disruptive and as much as I am not a Jose fan I do have sympathy for him regarding injuries as it must be difficult to have to change the team so often I dont think we would see so many team changes if the squad was fully fit for a decent amount of time .

Dele needs to show a lot to be declared head and shoulders above the rest. The other 7 are certs, but Deles position is up for grabs and Lucas, Lamela, Lo Celso and Dele are in with a shout.

Mourinho on Kane, Son, Bale and Alli playing together
"Did you give me four names or 11? You want to give the other seven? You could see against West Ham, it's not from the start, but you had Bale, Lucas, Harry, Sonny, Dele so you had it. We didn't turn the game around but we left the game with positive feelings."

Well I think we know the front 6. Just dont know the back line.

Dele has to start, for me.

The manager has made it clear that Dele needs to up his game when he’s given chances to prove himself.

There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that he did that, and then some, against Wolfsberger.

The fact they’re 5th in the Austrian league is irrelevant, Dele was handed an opportunity to prove himself, and he ran the show from the outset.

If that’s not enough to earn a place in the PL lineup, then what is?

Lamela or Son would be the ones to make way IMO. I’d go for a front 4 of Dele, Bale, Son, Kane, but would be equally happy to see Dele, Bale, Lamela, Kane.

Son has looked a bit off the boil for several weeks, if it was anyone else we’d be calling for him to be dropped by now, so I’d put him on the bench.

Dele has to start, IMO. We need a spark in attack, desperately. Kane & Son cant do it all. Love Lamela but Son is an automatic in XI. BASK should be the front 4 for now on & probably should have been earlier.

Ability wise I think he is. It was just a case of form/application whilst on the pitch.

Well its a problem when he can not show his ability on the pitch for two years. If its all about ability we should have kept Taraabt probably.

I agree that Dele should start this game to give him confidence and that he can build on the Wolfsberg-match, but he is not even close to be a cert in this position, because in football ability is just a tiny piece of a succesful puzzle.

doing it against better opposition?

I would actually stick him and Bale in this weekend. Football is a confidence game and both have their tails up.

no fkin silly nutmegs though Dele eh
