I don’t think Aurier is fully fit yet. I bet Mourinho would of liked him to be subbed on but the son injury (because he’s been over played) robbed us of that.

He looked extremely good midweek and is fit enough to be on the bench. I don't really buy it. I guess he could have a knock or be sore from midweek.

He’s obviously pony, but you can’t blame that on Doherty (or any individual for that matter).

We were half arsed across the whole pitch. Set up passively, shrank backwards and rarely decided to push forward with purpose. Is that the players? Is it Jose? Who knows. But it is a familiar pattern every single fucking time we play anyone who is better than Dinamo Zagreb.

It literally was a penalty.

Whether you agree with the rule or not, under the actual rules the game is played to, it was a penalty.

Laca kicked the floor, kicked the ball off the pitch and then kicked Sanchez all in one move.

Laca has since said himself he thinks they were very lucky to get the penalty, which says it all.

It wasn’t a penalty and I won’t ever agree with any assessment which says it was one and that’s all I’m ever going to say on the subject.

Bale had to be pulled mate. Was an absolute spectator.

Nonsense
He was a spectator because its not his job to cover for a liability at rb
Also if you set you're team up to not leave you're own half what's the point.

And even then if you are going to sub him you do it for a actual footballer not just a big lump who's frightened of the ball.
Stubborn shit playing docherty instead of aurier because he does not particularly like the lad.

I'm gonna do a shit ton of crystal meth, after which I'll hopefully believe this whole episode was a meth induced delusion. Wish me luck.

we have some bang avg players who seem to struggle to make simple passes. Our midfield is truly awful... PEH is a terrible player but alongside what else we have ie sissoko he looks world class
That's not a fair assessment, gaz. PEH is a very good player. But there are limits to his game as there is in every player, even the truly world-class ones. His job, the way he's been implemented this season plays entirely to his strengths. The problem today was not his abilities as a player, it was tension. You could see it in the way he and the whole squad played. The only player who looked relaxed under the pressure of the game today was Dele, when he came on. And maybe Toby, but that's part and parcel of his game - he rarely looks tense.

He just had too much time on the pitch, any more than half an hour and he's virtually guaranteed to pick up a couple of yellows
No he’s just pissed off. you would too if you are a fan, seeing your team mate playing utter shit in a NLD with no desire and no drive. It’s not just the standing off the opponent, we had lost all the 2nd balls until the last 10 minutes, this just showed the players didn’t want it bad enough in a fking derby. He’s the only one who actually seems to care plus the first yellow is not even a foul, he got the ball!

I've really tried hard to give Mourinho the benefit of the doubt even though I think he's the antithesis to the way we play, but it isn't working. It clearly isn't working.

He played attacking players. He in no way sent them out with an attacking mentality. He may have told them to hit them on the break but he definitely didn’t tell them to flood the final third or press their defence or push up the pitch or any of the above. Just because you play attacking players doesn’t mean you set a team out to attack.

I am fairly sure he didn't tell Kane and Bale to just jog around not really offering much. The reason we couldn't get high up the pitch is because we couldn't hold the ball up upfront so we couldn't push up. You need your attacking players to work offering easy passing options and competing with opposition defenders.

You can pick on certain players, such as Bale, who was poor today; or Ndombele who’s been poor since playing deeper; or Doherty who is always poor in a 4 man defence. But that has to be about mentality. We only played for 10 minutes and Kane twice came within a few inches of scoring.
Do you think Jose asked them to be passive and watch the game pass them by? Or were they scared?
Lamela was sent off because he was having to carry the team.

Really begs the question of why we were so passive and timid. They were there to be had, anyone who has watched them at all know how shit their defense is. It's a complete fucking mystery why we revert to this passive low block when the entire fucking experience of the season has proved beyond any scintilla of doubt that we shoot ourselves in the foot whenever we invite pressure, and are incredible difficult to deal with when we attack. It's infuriating.
Although Jose got the selection wrong I firmly believe it was 99% mental today. No courage or bravery hence the sitting off, lax and apathetic in possession. It’s just showed to me that Mourinho has failed to change the mentality and he should go. What angered me most was the lack of reaction in the second half. If we can’t even wake up after 45 never mind turn up for this game under these circumstances then we can’t turn up for the League Cup final or the latter stages of the Europa League. We’ll win neither.
