He stays until the end of the season, barring an insane meltdown. But thanks to our abysmal league performance this season he shouldn’t be continuing in the role next year (unless we go on some sort of incredible run between now and then).

At best, we’re reasonably effective flat track bullies. But we’re pretty dreadful against technically more competent sides, generally lacking control and direction. People also need to stop using the early Utd and City examples of proof we’re capable of beating the best. That was earlier in the season, when our low block counter tactic hadn’t been completely found out, against two sides who are much better versions of themselves now.

I honestly don’t get the loyalty to Mourinho. I’ve said this before, I don’t have a personal agenda against the man and grew to like him watching All Or Nothing. But I also think that what he’s doing with us is far from good. I don’t really care about his past successes, if he can’t replicate that with us then what does his past glories matter anyway? And besides, all idols fall eventually. He’s highly unlikely to attain Champions League football for us next season, and barring a really bad day at the office for City, I can’t foresee us winning the Carabou Cup. I’m not convinced Mourinho is the right manager for us, and I’d be really disappointed if he was still in charge at the beginning of next season. I just don’t see an identity and style of play emerging that excites me both aesthetically and developmentally. As others have said, I’ve actually lost my devotion to this club this season in ways I’ve never felt before. I’ve supported this club since 1980, been through lots of highs and many more lows but I don’t get as excited about games as I used to

The problem is he wasn't and reverted back to type.
Our performance today was no worse than when we played Fulham. Only difference is Fulham weren't good enough to punish us. Palace game probably would have went the same if they didn't equalise before HT

This is so obvious it really shouldn't need saying. Worrying.

It will be interesting to hear his excuses but I can’t really be bothered to listen to them. I just hope arsenal don’t go on a run now. We need to beat villa and Newcastle. No excuses.

Since we beat arsenal in December we have played 8 matches against teams in top half of table and lost all 8.

People have been calling for him to go including me since Brighton.

Saying its kneejerk is weak. Its not kneejerk.

If you were to put a poll out I suspect over 50% of Spurs fans would want him gone. So calling for him to go isn't kneejerk. And if you want reasoning look back through my posts.

But it's not a WTF.
Oh Kingkay is going to be childish.

This whole performance stinks of Jose asking the players to play defensively in a low block, the players not wanting to play that way which resulted in a half arsed effort and Jose moaning about lack of intensity.

Complete full circle from the turn around in form

Mourinho hasn't learnt lessons and that's so surprising. Whenever we take this approach to games we more often lose. Against this Arsenal team we needed to impose our greater experience and ask more questions of them instead we allowed Arsenal to ask us all the questions and guess what we are what we are.
This is my problem, yes we go out and fly forward against teams that don’t push high and are significantly weaker then us but it seems we have no idea how to play against anyone half decent. We just revert to this negative anti football low block nonsense. Arsenal are not a good team, yet we seceded space and let them play. We made them look like Bayern for most of that match. It was clearly a tactic and not because our attackers felt nervous about our defence as had been mentioned before. We will not get top 4 this season or next season and will not be winning any cups if we continue to play like this when we come up against anyone decent. We need to play football rather then just bend over with our cheeks spread and wait for the inevitable.

Look, today was dreadful, but we don’t have to play a team challenging for the top half of the table every week. I reckon we’ll be alright on Thursday (y)

I’ll say it again, if we actually did employ a low block I would agree with you but we didn’t. We basically looked like we weren’t trying any Specific tactic at all. No pressing, no dropping deep. The players are mentally shattered, but on a winning streak? It just doesn’t make any sense.

I agree with the sentiment though and if we don’t win both the CC and EL (not happening, I know) then I hope we can get someone younger in to try sort this team out. I’m ready for a rebuild.
Fair play to you, you've gone out to bat a lot for Mourinho and the tendency nowadays is to just double down and become more defiant, so fair fucks.
I personally started from a position of not wanting him because I thought he'd lost his x-factor but wanted him to succeed. He's given glimpses of improvement and occasionally I've begun to believe but overall for 15 months in charge his team have produced some pretty poor football. Contrast that with Arteta who started with a far worse bloated squad. You can see how he's impressing his style on them whilst also getting rid of the crud they'd accumulated.

Seen fuck all to suggest Jose deserves another season but Levy has such a major hard-on for him will be no surprise to see him here in August. Truly believe the game is passing Jose by in front of our eyes. Today’s low block defensive bullshit was inexcusable against a very average Arsenal team.
levy fired before and he will with this one ...but we got two months left, so we just got to get on with it ...enjoy the ride, next season maybe different

Not sure on this occasion as he came out and said it was a horrible first half

We might JUST finish above Arsenal this season because of the shocking start they had - but the fact that it's even a possibility not to is shocking given how far off the pace they were. As it stands though - I see little to no chance of maintaining that into next season, they have built a strong squad of hungry young players that work hard for each other whereas we appear clueless in every big game. Unless we make major changes they are going to dominate us again for the next few years.

Tried to wait for the furore to die down, and hoping the mob have moved on. I don’t necessarily begrudge the criticism Jose gets, infact a lot of it is justified, it’s the unfair standards he’s judged by that annoys me. We’ve won 1 in 15 at the Emirates but apparently it’s a sacking offence for not picking up 3 points, even after one of our best players went off injured in the first half.

Objectively it seems like many have made their minds up on Jose, no matter what we do.

Arteta has clearly moved 'that' club forward with younger & more energetic team and in a shorter timespan. It's his first managerial appointment. We've got one of the most successful managers of the modern era and have gone backwards in performance. This can't continue!
