I don't think Robbo will last long with Ramos at the Helm. He doesn't command his own box and doesn't have much agility either. Against City he made a mess of an easy save that could have cost Spurs, and the other one shot he had to save he made it look far more difficult than it really was.

one of the best keepers, in the best league in the world and you don't think he'll last.

as defsta would say.......... "oh dear"

Two fandabby saves tonight, classified by Mr Roberts as world class. He has kept us in the game where we are ten against eleven at a ground where no other team has taken a point...[/quote]

And still no team has taken a point

Great save in the match, it almost had me celebrating as if we'd scored a goal

Robbo has, in fact, made a number of top-dollar saves throughout the season. We tend to prefer to concentrate on the fuck-ups—of which, in all honesty, there haven't been too many, and most of them concentrated within one game.

But I agree with ERO, and this is a point Eddie made some time ago. How is it that every keeper we've had since Wandering Hans became coach has got worse? I'm very loath to criticise coaching, because, unlike some, I don't have the insight to watch a video of Hughton with a clipboard and divine that he doesn't have a clue, but there is fairly compelling evidence—Sullivan, Krazy and Robbo—that Segers had a dentrimental effect.

i know what you're saying, but i can't believe that segers was a bad coach in terms of improving technique of our goalkeepers.
what i reckon is more likely is that he wasn't as good a motivator as juande (no surprises there) and as good at instilling confidence in the players he coached.

it's all in the head, and all ramos has done, which segers obviously wasn't able to do was to give the players he's coaching the confidence required to actually play to their potential.
this is most apparent in the very simple things like catching crosses (any of the last few games) and holding onto shots (portsmouth game - muntari shot springs to mind).

but hey, it's all pretty irrelevant now as segers is gone and robbo's doing much better!

he was absolutely amazing tonight - 11 out of 10 easily - the save he made from Vasall - superlatives cannot do justice - it was simply miraculous - save of the season contender without any doubt

That save was amazing!

It may just turn out to be the most vital moment of our season.

So Robbo has a blinder tonight and makes one of the saves of the year and still we get this. Fair enough, you don't think he'll last under Ramos, but the rest of your post makes me want to eat my own vomit.

The first save today was nothing short of outstanding and if City had scored then, they would've more than likely gone on to win. That save lifted the whole team and kept spirits right up. How about praising players when they've had a good match? I know it's a weird concept to some of our fans but give it a try.

I was going to start a poll asking whether you rate the Vassell save as better than Banks from Pele. I'm probably a little swept up in the emotion still to call that fairly, but they were clearly in the same class.

Great to see him 10-15 kilos lighter and back to his best. The Vassell header save was top class, although he was fortunate with the goal line clearance by Chimbonda (as that would be classed as a mistake) but I'm just glad he is back to his best.

Finally the board saw sense and got rid of the cancer that is Han Segars. He has turned some great keepers into massive donkeys.

I share your concerns over Segers. I've never liked the prick. Any stooge of John Fashanu has to be a ****. Didn't even think he was a good keeper.

But I disagree about Robinson, despite a decent reaction save tonight. Like Dawson, he has too many weaknesses.
You know my views on those weaknesses so I won't go over them. I really don't remember any "top dollar" saves and do remember many "fuck-ups" and examples of poor keeping. And to say they were concentrated in one game ? Only if batches of 38 count as "one game".

Great. Another f*****g mongoloid. :bs:

Out spewing negativity and criticism after an amazing match where not a single one of the Spurs players put a foot wrong (including Zokora!)... how's that for cancer?

Who the hell is Han Segars anyway?

He looks a lot more athletic, much trimmer (maybe its just the hair).

It was a great save from Vassell, watch it in real time and its fantastic. Put this way, once you saw Vassell get a firm contact with the ball you thought it was a goal.

Robinson still has his faults but so does every player on the earth. You name a player and I bet there is something that they could improve. Perfection is great to aim for but it can never be reached. I think some people need to realise that - they expect us to score every time we attack, to never let a goal in, complete every pass, tackle, cross, header etc etc.
