Studio not impressed. Guess they haven’t watched us too much this season to know this is chalk and cheese from our normal performances!

the movement has been very encouraging, players aren't standing still for too long and looking to move the ball quicker. That is all down to coaching and a bit of positivity.

They are getting closer together so patterns can be constructed and they are alternating runs between them to make it unpredictable. These are all fundamentals of a big team, yet we were either to doing them or very sporadically under Jose.

This half of football makes Mourinho look terrible.

He’s actively made us worse with his tactics and man management.

Suddenly there’s movement and passing.

I'd like to think that this is a reaction to the final if I'm honest. It would show they understand they didn't put enough effort in, and that they do actually give a fuck.
I dunno. To me it just feels like a different approach. We look like we're playing with a sort of arrogance where we almost don't care who the opposition are. Which is a feeling I've really missed.

I’ve just listened to the half time analysis on Sky and if that would have been Man City they would have been talking about a totally dominant performance. Yet for us it was ‘I’d have expected better’ and a ‘rare bit of quality....’ that led to the goal.

Yea and if you watched the match you would have seen we had 23 shots and 12 shots on target but Darlow had the best game of his career

One of your two quotes was a 1-1 draw with Newcastle.

You are going on ignore ?

Finally glad to see our players not going into their shells after taking a lead.

Lo Celso showing what an 8 should play like never hide and always probing always creating an option excellent

For all the talent Ndombele has, he's definitely not as good as Gio at showing for the ball and constantly being an option

Well, then fair play to him, and to Mason for getting this level of effort.

Its been over 18 months since we looked this well coached - even against poor opposition. Everyone looks like they know what they are supposed to be doing out there.
I don't think the coaching from a technical pov would really be making that much of a difference in such a short time. He's just gone back to what they knew under early days Poch, and they understand it completely. If Poch hadn't have tried to switch it all up into the diamond I think things could have turned out very different.thats not me putting Mason down because he's done exactly the right thing.

Harry has had a bit of an off day so far - quite a few shots without getting one on target (apart from the offside one)

Interesting half. Sheffield United have defended capably. Our goal was not the result of any kind of mistake, it was just a great ball from Aurier and a skilful flick from Bale. And Ramsdale has been good.

But their midfield is a mess and it puts Ramsdale and the defence under incessant pressure. For the first 25 minutes, they were bullied or tricked off the ball virtually every time they tried to pass though midfield. Then we'd move the ball swiftly and smoothly, with a lot of attractive one-touch passing, but everything lacked magic, accuracy and ruthlessness, before and after, except the goal itself.

After 25 minutes, we dropped in intensity and, for about 10 minutes, it was an even game and our defence needed to wake up and perform. After we scored, Sheffield heads dropped again and we got control of the midfield back. They seem very fragile, which I suppose isn't surprising after the season they've had.

What's been good from a Spurs standpoint has mainly been Dele and Lo Celso delivering dynamism and focus in midfield. There's one hell of a crowd around that penalty box, but Dele is linking midfield and attack and getting into positions where he is the extra man to disrupt Sheffield's wall of defenders.

We just need to turn more of those positions into shots and more of the shots into goals. And not get timid and sit back. At all.

Whats fun to watch - and amusing in relation to Mourinho - is how well we are defending from the front. Players are still making a few individual mistakes, but we are less exposed defensively than when we invited teams to play in our end.

Were playing a team that is considered the third worst team in the history of the premier league
