Eriksen was the first player my son saw score a goal for us when I took him. I’ve always had a soft spot for him and so glad he’s doing alright. Truly shocking moment, hopefully he makes a full recovery.

Remember that little drop off pass he did to Gylfi Sigurdsson vs Norwich. Either his first or one of his first games. Knew we had a true Spurs player from that moment.

If you’d told me before the start of today that Christian Eriksen would make me cry, I wouldn’t have believed you. Strange how someone you’ve never met before can have such a unexpectedly profound effect on your life. I’ve had Gooners, Chelsea and Hammers fans texting me all day sharing similar sentiments. Football really is a rather unifying, beautiful thing on the whole isn’t it. I’m saying this not having touched a single drop, for the record.

I spent a few minutes walking round the garden singing the Eriksen song in my head after coverage cut away! Anyway, glad to hear he seems to be ok and hoping he can make a full recovery. ?23

Don’t know if it’s already been shared but it’s all I want to watch tonight.
Wasn’t watching the Denmark game as it’s my sons birthday.
first I found out was the sky news App alert, and obviously my heart sank, especially based on how these things so often pan out.
Gutted as he is my favourite player since modric, and going all the way back, hoddle, in terms of his vision and creativity to pull the strings. always felt a closer link as we share a birthday (not sure quite why that’s enough but I guess we see the game the same way)
Was such a key part of our recent success and got horrific treatment from spurs fans for being honest about having plans to try something new.
Thankfully he’s ok, although time will tell no doubt, and this shocking news may just have jolted all good spurs fans into realising what a gem of a player we had, and remember him as such.

I love Christian Eriksen. So glad he’s still with us.

If I recall, wasn't there a cardiac surgeon who happened to be there, and was instrumental in keeping him alive? (Apologies again for breaking my no posting rule, and also sorry misremembering something)

Yes, Dr. Andrew Deaner. I used to work at a hospital in East London where he used to practice. Got on well with him because we were both Spurs fans and often had a weekly catch up on Mondays to discuss the weekend's game. He's a very nice guy.

Was out drinking and to see a whole pub just fall silent and grown men all just praying he was okay was really truly horrid, everyone was mortified but it was also so so so bonding .

So glad to see he is okay as I really did fear the worst for him

Today has really brought into focus what is important and what is irrelevant. Couldn't care less now if Kane leaves and not bothered about the new manager. Just want Christian to get better.

Thank God the latest news is very encouraging. He's awake in hospital and his condition is described as 'stable'. Thank God so many people including his amazing team mates did so much to help him in super-quick time. They all deserve a special 'thank you'.

Me too. I honestly thought he'd had it when I saw them giving him CPR and his eyes were wide open although he was clearly unconscious. That was horrible.

Come on Christian mate, we're all rooting for you!!!!!!

His free kick against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane is still one of my favourites, how he managed to curl that in from that angle was incredible and we played pretty poorly in that game. I also loved his technique on the volley against Everton, perfect ball striking. Thoughts with him and his family.

I remember Antonio Puerta who played for Sevilla. He died several days after his cardiac arrests, because of multiple organ failures. He got one cardiac arrest on the pitch, then one more in the dressing room before he got to the hospital. His girlfriend was pregnant at the time.

I think Eriksen will make it. He got one cardiac arrest compared to Puerta who got two. And I also think Eriksen got the correct medical care much faster than Puerta. But I can't let this go until some time passes. That's why I said the next couple of hours/days are critical for his well being, even if he's stable atm.

Was always my favourite player when he was with us. Don't really know what to write really, just lost for words. I lost it when they showed his wife/partner, sorry I don't know if they're married. Whether he ever plays again.. doesn't really matter does it. Just hope he makes a full recovery. I spent time in prison, I've seen people getting beaten, stabbed etc. What I saw today truly shocked me. Let's hope for some good news tomorrow.

I was in the stadium when it happened, was living in Seville and a season ticket holder there for six years. When we saw him walking off after the first collapse all seemed well but the news just got worse and worse over the next hours and days. Heartbreaking to see a local kid who was just breaking into the national team struck down like that. Any time something like what happened with CE today happens I can't help but remember that time.

So relieved to hear the positive updates coming from Copenhagen tonight.

Sorry if I've missed it, but has it been confirmed that he had a cardiac arrest?

Yes, I think so. The doctor for the danish national team said the following (translating from a swedish newspaper):

"When I arrived to him he was breathing and had a pulse. But it all changed really fast so we had to start CPR."

If they didn't get the doctor all wrong, it seems like Eriksen had a cardiac arrest.

Just to add, forget your plastic celebrities. The definition of hero.

"Massive respect to Simon Kjær, he made sure that Eriksen didn't swallow his tongue when he was unconscious, made sure he was in the right position, got the squad to surround Eriksen so the media didn't continue filming him and made sure Eriksen's wife was comforted."

EDIT: Actually I removed the link to the tweet as it shows Eriksen's wife in tears. I don't think thats appropriate, but the point stands. All credit to Kjaer.
