Yes and no. England have been shit at supplying the striker for a while now.
And I don't just mean tonight. I mean this last couple of years. Southgate had a formula which was having runners working off of Kane. Rashford and Sancho looked great in it, but he's going for players out wide who want to drop deep and a pair of central midfielders who won't disconnect from the centre backs.
Grealish pulled the ball back to the edge of the box earlier and we had no one near it. That's because Southgate plays low risk players and instructs them to play low risk football.
Kane has been shit?? Have we magically looked better since that sub? No. Because the overall structure is shit.

Rice and Phillips, absolutely pointless to have them both against Scotland, but we get to 75 minutes and rather than sacrifice one of them, he takes off the guy that will get you a goal.

If no one passes to him, no one has the ability to actually make a succeful pass in the box, no one can actually make successful cross ... i dont think this system will suit any striker
