You think Laporte ticks the box of actually wanting to come to us? He's obviously the better player but no chance he would come to us. He'd have his pick of teams.

I agree with that... however I don't think many of the teams that would want him have the finances to pay City. But yes believe a long shot getting him...however he would be the one player in would want included.

Romano just said that if Man City don't sign Grealish this week, then Grealish will sign a new contract with Villa next week. That isn't good news for us if there is no news soon.

Imagine the shit show if this was Pogba trying to do the same to get his move to PSG.

But for some odd reason the media are basically supporting Kane.

Agreed if Pogba actually did this, he has never refused to train, the media headlines would be much, much different.

If we don’t stand firm and say he’s not for sale at any price now piss away off we will forever be the joke of English football. The don’t worry it’s only Tottenham will always be the opposition attitude.

Hmmm. Not sure any of that is accurate. Big teams sell big players reasonably frequently.

We'll be a joke if we don't take what is essentially the kind of money that could really push us on.

Very clear.

Pep's little emoji comment on his post was a clear indicator too. They have clearly spoken and I imagine him and Charlie Kane are getting advice from City on how to make it happen.
Which is exactly why Levy needs to stand very firm.

In fact, I'd flat out reject any talk until a sufficient offer comes in.

100m = Fuck off
100m + Jesus = Fuck off
100m + Jesus + Kane refusing to play for us = Fuck off
150m + Kane refusing to play for us = Fuck off

Don't even give them the valuation. Let THEM get desperate and figure it out.

City and Kane have obviously held talks and he's probably been given the grand masterplan on how he fits into the team. That means they have all grown attached to the idea Kane will play there. Are they prepared to give that up?

If they've tapped him up, which they very obviously have, and now don't go on to sign him, then that's going to piss Kane off (probably Pep too) and leave them short in attack.

Well if this is true, Id up the price for Kane to £200M, they clearly have it to spend through their legitimate sponsorship revenue.

From what I'm hearing I still don't think he goes. We (again from what I'm told) are not looking to negotiate or compromise regardless of what stance Harry takes.

See my post above re Grealish. Imagine if after all of this Man City got neither player?

The Spurs media department are gonna be busy over the next couple of weeks editing Kane and his goals out of the pre-match and promotional videos...

Depends.

If Grealish stays at Villa and they decide they need to come in hard for Kane, we may get closer to our valuation and it'll be resolved the way we want.
If they sign Grealish, they'll try every underhand tactic to get it for the fee they want, all the while disturbing our plans.

I hope the outcome is that City pay up, but it's good to hear that we're standing firm.

We absolutely have to stand firm this is about more than Kane.

Have no desire to see him play for us again but we must not sell to them after this, if it's a year in the reserves we have to go there.

I don't think they can get both without causing a huge ffp shit storm, and they are stalling the Grealish deal. I think once they get zero encouragement from our side they'll push through with Grealish. Not heard about his contract situation but I will ask the question.

Thanks Trix, great news on two fronts, one Levy has taken a stance both with Harry and City and two, Levy won't be influenced by any player throwing their toys out of the pram, certainly sends a message to the players and any other club planning to get any of our players on the cheap.

There's loads of opposition fans saying that Man City isn't a rival to Spurs,

Then who did we play in the final of the League Cup this year?

idiots

We have to stick to £150 million.
That gets us Vlahovic, Ings, and two decent CBs. Combined with Skipp and Gil that fixes all last season's issues (assuming their not duds).
That makes us an all round a better team without Harry than with him.

For a £100 million we 'd still be short and he would still be worth that next summer so I see no need to give in. Maybe at £120 million if our non-Harry transfer budget can make up the difference.

If this ends with us accepting £100mill or less + Ake I will be livid. Laporte is the only defender we should demand in a deal if it comes to it.

Arent FFP rules relaxed because of Covid? so i dont think FFP rules play a role here if they want both.
