Depends.

If Grealish stays at Villa and they decide they need to come in hard for Kane, we may get closer to our valuation and it'll be resolved the way we want.
If they sign Grealish, they'll try every underhand tactic to get it for the fee they want, all the while disturbing our plans.

We absolutely get more for Kane if they don't get Grealish

A summer of getting no one would be a disaster for them - we'd be in a better negotiating position

I made this up. It isn't real. Just to save anyone looking :cautious:

We're all feeling it mate, but it's also irrational.

I don't always trust Levy buying players, but selling players - I am pretty confident there's none better at getting the most buck for your bang.

is it irrational though? if they force this through what stops them coming for Devine or Scarlett, or any of our players doing this to get a move.

It's the most rational thing in terms of protecting the club in the future.

Sorry to be very late to the party. Not been able to read anything all day. Has there been any actual ITK or official sources (beyond Sky speculation) that Kane has refused to join up today?
Dan KP tweeted that Spurs were 'very disappointed' in Harry's actions, but that it would remain an internal matter (back a few pages, not many).

That's good enough for me. Sounds like he really has refused to train.

Arent FFP rules relaxed because of Covid? so i dont think FFP rules play a role here if they want both.
Yes and no. I might be wrong, but from what I'm aware they are relaxed regarding meeting deadlines from previous years to protect clubs. It's not a green light to shovel money in to a club to gain an advantage.

We will sell if we get an offer that the decision makers view as better for Spurs than keeping Kane for the duration of the contract. And we should.
Hmmm. Not sure any of that is accurate. Big teams sell big players reasonably frequently.

We'll be a joke if we don't take what is essentially the kind of money that could really push us on.
Big teams that win things sell players reasonably frequently.

What did we push on and win after our last big sale ????? ???

Either £100m + Laporte + Cancelo or
£180m cash, no negotiating. If they don't meet it by our deadline, he stays.

Similar to Dortmund last season- they gave United a price and a deadline, United didn't meet it and so he stayed.

100 + Laporte is acceptable. Anything less & Levy should resign. Offer Laporte big wages after what we are saving on Kane’s, Toby’s, etc.. Romero & Laporte would be best defensive partnership in the PL.

Stand firm. Only person taking a hit with this is Harry and his “model-professional” persona. Looks like the media is rightfully on our side. Have a feeling Harry won’t like all the negative press and will be showing up sooner than later with some made up excuse as to why he missed.

Not sure there is any hit as he is still getting paid shitloads by us and if he moves he will get paid even more and replaced the love of Spurs Fans by the Mancs.

Lad has definitely misread the room here. Grealish training as normal is going to do him no favours whatsoever as they're the two biggest transfer stories, running in parallel, and with everyone's eyes on both. The one with a chequered history of being a bit of a twat...professional, club first, whatever will be will be. Yet the England captain, man of the people and a model pro...toys out of the pram and radio silence.

It's not a good look, and I'd presume after a couple of days of this someone is going to need to have a word.
I've no idea who Grealish's agent is but I imagine it's an actual agent, which probably helps when it comes to how to go about these sorts of things.

I don't think that really is acceptable imo. 120-140 + Laporte would be to me. Laporte seems ready to leave being 3rd choice now, plus it would give us our ball-playing LCB to pair with Romero.

I'd be okay with Bernardo and Laporte in part exchange, so long as the cash we receive on top is sufficient to finance the rebuild. Laporte only logged 1343 minutes in the Premier League last season, which is roughly equivalent to 15 matches, and you'd think he might be open to a move to a club where he'd be a nailed on starter. Bernardo definitely wants out, is unlikely to be able to move to Spain due to the financial struggles of the big clubs there, and is a Mendes client. It's at least plausible that we might have some chance of attracting those two, unlike many of the other players at City.

I’ve only just realised the disrespect Kane has shown to the new management group as well. He hasn’t even met them yet!
