From what he knows after speaking to his Man City contacts, Man City have no desire to bid higher than they've already gone.
They must be smiling smugly as either way they might get a discount or at worst severely destabilise our top player and cause unnecessary upset to our pre-season plans.

If true, this is huge.
And I wouldn't be at all surprised. They thought they'd try at £100m & hope that we'd cave in to an unhappy player.
Increasing by circa 40% is a big call, even for them.

He’s come up with a plan to deliberately come back late to try make a point and he’s shit himself at the outrage of Spurs fans.

And makes sense that they've kept Grealish on hold while all this is happening.

It's beyond belief that they thought this scenario would ever transpire.

It's like Citeh were mugging Harry off.

When he swore by his daughter claiming some dodgy goal scored by Eriksen - you knew something was wrong with this fella :cautious:

this is like what bayern do. they tap a player up from a club hoping to challenge them, turn his head, then don’t move for him.

then, after a disastrous season for x club, they move for the player for half price when they’re out of europe and desperate for money as their star player’s head has gone.

it’s pretty disgraceful, and i doubt PL clubs will stand for it.

Probably not half as much as Kane did when he realised City were not going to increase their initial offer. He must have thought "Oh shit, I'll have to stay here and eat tons of humble pie then..."

Just checked, Barbados is on the green list, only reason he would be self isolating is if he has COVID, this story gets better and better.

Except it's been going on for decades, and still is to this day, and the big clubs will continue doing it as long as there are no repurcussions.

Why do you think he selected those around him, specifically?

In fact, why do you belittle him like he's a small child who can't think or chose for himself? He, world class superstar footballer, isn't being manipulated by a nobody brother. His nobody brother has been chosen by him because he's a nobody brother. And even if he's being manipulated, he's still responsible for his agent's actions because he's literally an agent of HK and acts on behalf per instruction. This isn’t a conservatorship. Charlie doesn't have power of attorney over someone in a coma.

And no one is forgetting what he's done. It's just irrelevant to what he's doing.
Not absolving him of any part in this, but he’s certainly taken advice from his team on how to handle this.

He is going from ”hero” to villain rather rapidly and I think we need to see how this plays out before passing judgement. I hope he stays and then gets his head down and plays the way he did last season.

But taking off my rose-tinted specs, he may well have had a verbal agreement with Levy specifically with a sum in mind at which point he’d be allowed to go. However, his value has increased with the way he played and the market around the world has continued to rise, so in today’s money he is worth more than £100m, assuming that was the sum or thereabouts.

I don’t condone his behaviour but I do allow more from than many other Spurs players because he has by far been our standout player over the last 5 years.
