Too injury prone IMO, I might be wrong but he gives me the impression that his knees could pack up anytime.

Why we never just signed Ings is completely baffling to me!! Short term answer sorted. And possibly 2/3 year term. Prem ready.
Wasn’t it something to do with Southampton didn’t want to do business with us either because of the way we tapped up hojberg?

2 year deal. Proven prem striker. How much do you think he might be worth when Kane goes?

Im assuming the key element here also was the fact you could almost guarantee him getting injured , his injury record is atrocious lets be honest. Also when he gets injured is generally serious and out for a considerable time , plus how many more serious injuries can he take, one more could finish him.

Maybe Paratici has some better options in mind? Son is a way better short term option, so maybe we are looking for a mid/long term option?
Son is son, what does, he’s a short term option even mean? Ings was a no brainer if we won’t shell out big for Val or Martinez. Kane’s gonna go and we’re gonna be left short.

What I mean is that we’re in a rebuild and probably looking for a younger striker with a longer future. Ings is 29 and has an injury history so he isn’t going to be someone we build around so would be a short term option. If we need someone to play as a central forward in the shorter term while a younger striker comes in and adapts to the team/league then Son is better than Ings (49 goals/assists in 55 games as a central striker) and definitely more integrated with our system/squad.

We definitely need a rebuild, but say selling Kane for even 125m and paying 25m for Ings isn’t really that bad. Ings is very good. he could hit 25 goals easily in our squad. But I get the worry about injuries too. But Kane Will almost always lose at least 6 weeks with an ankle turn.

He’s been injury free since leaving Pool. And has serious numbers since. Demba ba had issues too, still smashed goals in his finished state lol

No definitely not bad at all. But you’d think if we have that money Paratici has other options lined up that he likes more. We’ve brought him in to have a knowledge of players beyond what our previous scouting team have had and I’m sure he has a very clear plan of the type of player he wants to bring in. We’ll know in 2 weeks. If we sell Harry and don’t bring in another striker then I’ll 100% be in agreement.

And that there is the problem. fucking Cheap arse wages. He’s a defo 15 goals a season

Couldn't disagree more, I want spurs to stay within their budget. We already dropped a massive bollock with ndombele.

Son and Kane have earned their wages, any new player (no matter how good) shouldn't be coming in on massive wages.

We can't and we shouldn't be paying those sort of wages, I rate Danny Ings but 150k and I imagine a 4 year deal would be stupid. He picks up an injury, or goes a bit shit an we are paying almost 8m a year for dead wood. Actually more than the transfer fee in total.

I would not call the below exactly injury free, one frequent that keeps on coming back is defo his hammy... whats demba got to do with ings, completely separate issues and people.

2 goals in 2 games. Knows the league. Proven goalscorer. Went to Villa for 25m which I'm guessing we could have afforded. Just saying...

Well looking at that table it’s clear he had a hamstring problem that was never sorted out properly. They all run on together. And what does a knee injury mean? Not sure this table of injuries is valid mate. Not like his knee went again is it.

Maybe we don’t want to sign another decent forward? Because that’s how it looks. He will outscore son this year but he’s not worth the same wage? How does that work?

Because people like to justify nonsense mate. Could have just gave him a signing on bonus if we were that worried. Pay Ndombele 200k a week mind to do fuck all.

He would have been more than ideal and at a massively knocked down price for a player of his caliber.

Villa have every chance of finishing above us if Kane walks next week.
