Lines up with why Traore is a loan. They're basically this summer's signings, but shifting the money to next year when all parties are more financially stable. Would be very tidy business and probably get us closer to a 'fair' price for Ndombele too.

When you put it like that it does make sense. But we then need to get £40m for ndombele in the deal. If we did I think that would be a good achievement.

Apparently Sane has fallen out of favour with Bayern

Straight swap pls? :playful:
I'd rather go for a swap deal with a midfielder. Wasn't there a recent report about potential interest in Kessie? I think it would make sense to swap for Kessie if possible (it probably isn't anyways).

Yes according to a few sources we're interested in Kessie, even in getting a pre-contract with him to come on a free next year. However, there has been loose links between Ndombele and Milan.

I think with the market conditions there could be something worked out where we get Kessie and Ndombele goes there on loan with obligation to buy.

The problem would be that Kessie only has one year left on his deal and has said multiple times he'd like to stay in Milan for most his career. Unless there's some sort of change by Milan's side or his side then that could be the big stumbling block. We'd also lose value since TN is on a huge contract with big wages, and if we were to swap him with a player with one year left, we'd be "losing" value.

Although in my opinion Kessie seems like an amazing player and I think you'd gain that value back with his actual worth to the squad compared to TN's right now. Two of PEH, Skipp, and him would mean that they're fresh ALL season.

I'm secretly hoping this turns into mourinho 2.0 and they don't like each other but realize they need to work together once the window closes. Skipp + Hojbjerg can cover up a lot of Ndombele's deficiencies.

Perhaps lost in translation?

I think the key is what this guy's attitude and application is if he doesn't get his move. I can't highlight enough how shameful it will be (as if it isn't already) if he doesn't put his head down and try his hardest to give something to Nuno and the team if he remains.

Another CM with creative traits in exchange for him could make all the difference for us going forward, as can and Ndombele who applies himself as Nuno wishes. This could really turn into an Ozil situation otherwise.

I was really excited about this guy. He has such a natural talent that can touch on the sublime.
Now when I think about him it makes my blood boil. How can you get so far in professional football with such a total lack of commitment and benign indifference. Really can't get my head around it.

If we could get cash + Mckennie from Juventus who is supposedly out of favour at Juve now they have signed Locatelli, i would rip their arms off. The cash could go someway to subsidising his wages in terms of a payoff so he can accept a lower wage otherwise if he stays its money down the toilet every day that he stays here because he ain't gonna play.

I'd be massively surprised if that happens, juve have problems with the size of their squad and also a massive wage budget.

I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few Juve players would be available on the cheap but I'd be amazed if they swap for another player on higher wages and I'd be even more amazed if they give us cash as well. But it's Fabio, so you never know, and juve have never seemed to give a crap about their wage bill.

Bayern is a possibility, but I think they are more desperate to get rid of tolliso than we are to get rid of Tanguy. Which should raise a few alarm bells.

It's a pity the Italian clubs are screwed because the Milan clubs would be a possibility.

Agreed - definitely won’t happen. This guy will fulfil his true destiny as our greatest ever flop/wasted talent.

He’s as excited as I’ve ever been about a transfer - so disappointing. It’s the fact that he’s never really given it a proper go that grates.

Is the £200k quoted the basic or is that a playing wage? Our wage structure has always been made up of basic and appearance bonus which encourages players to put in the effort to make the first team, I don't imagine that has changed so he may be on a bit of a reduced wage at the moment, perhaps that's one reason Nuno won't play him.
If that's the case I don't know how much of a difference it makes but another team might not have to be looking at matching or getting close to the top line figure.

Surely, if he hasn’t made himself available for a match day squad, or isn’t of the required conditioning, just fine him.

I always laugh at the weekly wage thing as if they are collecting a brown envelope with a payslip checking how much tax and NI they have payed.

Unless it is medical - including mental health - there must be a contractual term that penalises a player for this type of behaviour (unless of course it is a fine - in which case fine him his full salary!)
