Even actors playing comic characters get it. I'm a big Red Dwarf fan and I've watched a lot of behind-the-scenes videos and Chris Barrie has mentioned a number of times that he's been called 'smeghead' by random people in the street.
If you mix Rimmer and Brittas you get the ultimate smeghead.

I wouldn’t read too much into the wording of the statement and using summer rather than season.

We all know he wanted City and he’s now not going to commit to the full season and close the door fully, just in case Shitty changed their minds and made a massive bid in January.

However, everyone in football knows that it’s incredibly difficult to do big January transfers, and in his heart I’m sure he knows he won’t really get another opportunity to move until next summer.

50% chance of guessing.
He was going and would have gone. We would have taken the money with open hands if enough was offered. He's staying until when, who knows, it may be xmas. None of us have a choice in all this other than supporting THFC.
What's that got to do with the price of rice?

Guessing is one thing repeatedly posting "He's gone" and that other posters who weren't sure "were in denial" is something else altogether.

You compared it to Eastenders and called Harry a "character". He isn't a character. He is a human being driven by his own personal goals. You're right people shouldn't be so serious, but it's not just to entertain people. Footballers, coaches, admin staff all earn wages from it. It's more than just entertainment for us mere mortal folk. These players want to win things, they want to make money to ensure family futures. It was once solely to entertain the people, but not anymore.

He is 100% portrayed as a character by the media, by his social media team - He literally pays someone to do his PR and tell him how to act, what to say etc - you don't have a clue about who Harry Kane is

Yeah sounds like that deadline of the 23rd was right. City made one last offer, Levy rejected it. Harry knew (Levy told him) that if they hadn't met the asking price by then, the deal was dead as we wouldn't have time to find replacements anyway.

Kane then starts repairing his image.

I live in Australia, but I honestly believe most of the media hate Spurs for some reason. I personally don't get it.

Everyone in the UK could confirm or deny whether the media hate us.

It's all very tribal, and just because of how it works for casual fans, most of them will grow up fans of whoever was 'the best' in their school era. Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, City. You then get the likes of Gary Lineker suddenly dropping his spurs association so he can morph into a die-hard leicester supporter on MoTD.

Generally speaking, statistically few people outside of London will have grown up as spurs fans, compared to the glory supporters of their generation, and that's before you get into the chances of making it into the media where your opinion is good enough to be heard.

They are just jealous, we are great.
Happy Kane media transfer has ended for the time being.
Now let’s do it!

So true!

Love Chris Barrie, though - he created two superb characterisations and he's a skilled impressionist too.

Shame he's a Chelsea supporter, though.
I didn't know that he was a Blue?! What a smeghead.

Nice guy though, met him a couple of times at cons and he lit up when I brought up Brittas Empire as everyone only ever speaks of Red Dwarf and Rimmer.

Well played Daniel Levy and THFC.

Harry - you know its the right thing to do, there were times when I had my doubts but was quietly confident you'd still be here once that window slams shut on Jim Whites stupid face.

I'm going to go home and high five my son - he kept the faith too.

Signing of the summer that...Fuck Lukaku, Fuck Grealish, Fuck Sancho...this is the headline!

Kane to lead Spurs to UEFA Conference League ‘glory’ and show that to Remain was the correct choice all along…

Thanks.

Even in the Australian media, spurs are continually attacked.

However, other clubs, especially United and Liverpool, can't do anything wrong.

I do guess it comes down to popularity, especially in the Aus media

If Kane has got any sense he should now attempt to have a break clause inserted into his contract commencing next summer to take out any ambiguity. £80-100m ish.
Why would we agree to that? He will be worth that anyway with 2 years on contract. Can imagine we add a year to contract with pay rise and a realise clause circa £125m.
