Forgive and Forget poll currently sitting at 41%. I am forecasting it will be over 50% by kick off Sunday and over 70% by the end of the match! If its still there when we play scum itll top 90% when he scores the winner. Good to see!

Football fans are fickle, im one of them but in this case it is very difficult to be fickle. As a player Kane is just superb especially when he drops deep and sprays those passes, just great to watch. However, I didnt support him before as im more the club than the player and ill continue to support the club.

He really is fucking superb though.

I'm not fickle, I wanted to drive him to Manchester last week, now I'm getting "He's one of our own" tattoo tomorrow...

Just watched the highlights from last night on Spurs TV. That take down in the very first seconds from an amazing Romero long pass was nothing short of sensational - if he’d hadn’t narrowly missed the goal it would have been one of the greatest ever at the new stadium.

I’m not sure of my feelings for Kane now I admit. If we stick with the cheating girlfriend analogy then he’s still sleeping in the spare room - but I’m thawing out, the fickle slag I am.

Wanting to leave was understandable, no one was angry at him for that. The way the whole saga was handled, was poor. That's obviously why we're upset. Having said that, he's staying this season and he could end up staying beyond that too. Next season Haaland will be hot property. City are buying Ronaldo. Despite his age, if he does really well as a CF for them, which he probably will, I doubt they'd be eager to shell 100m on Kane next summer.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Kane sign a new deal, without a release clause, with him committing the rest of his career to the Club. That would definitely heal the wounds he caused this summer.

Agree. I have no problem with him wanting to leave. He signed the contract when we were not far off putting in title challenges. 2 weak seasons and a manager failure and I understand him thinking the chance to win major honours here isn't going to happen.

I definitely don't like some of the tactics he used to try to get a move. The whole thing was handled poorly his side and he should have stepped up better.

I hope he acknowledges that Man City weren't willing to put up the money. He might want to go there but if they don't put in the money then they aren't really committing to him.

I don't see any reason for there to be any contract negotiations right now. Let him stay this season and see what happens. If City aren't in for him and no one at the very top is willing, or able, to put up the money then he might see us as the best place to be.

It's important for us now to have a really good season.

This is key. I'd like to think he's mature enough to see all the angles here. Yes, he will see Levy's obstinance, and I kind of get his frustration there, but he must also see City's lack of true commitment to the deal.

It was interesting seeing people on BlueMoon saying "his loss", as if it was Kane's fault the deal didn't go through. Just a real lack of... depth of understanding of the dynamics at play with this deal.

Absolutely. There seems to be almost no scrutiny of the fact that City didn't put in anything like an acceptable offer.

When we sold Carrick, Bale, Berbatov and Modric the buying sides made them priority signings and put in large bids to get their man. City have treated this like they'll get Kane if it's for a reasonable fee but they're not going to go all out for him.

I fucking love him.

Don’t care if he doesn’t love me back lol.

We need to be playing players around him though that match his quality, Romero and Gil look like they could be tasty additions once full settled and really hope we can get couple more before window closes.

H has the chance to be a legend. He's only 44 (if I've calculated correctly) goals away from becoming Spurs' all-time greatest goalscorer.

Winning a PL, or a CL, or anything like that, in and of themselves, won't make him a legend, especially if he wins them at a club like Man City, even if we don't think of the politics of it and just look at the money aspect. It's not a challenge to win something with City, it's not hard. It's not an achievement if it's not difficult.

He could go to City, spend five years there and win 10 trophies. So what? He'd win them alongside 20-odd other people. That's not immortality.

But he could stay and bang in 44 more goals for Spurs and his name would be revered by Spurs fans for years, for decades, maybe even for as long as the club exists and beyond. Jimmy Greaves scored his last goal for Spurs over 50 years ago and he's a symbol of our club and still spoken of even though he hasn't kicked a football 'in anger' for most of that time.

Ultimately, which carries a greater legacy: being one of a group of people who lifted trophies (in less than auspicious circumstances too) or the only one who can be called the best at something? To be seen as following the money or to become an icon?

Depends how old you are not many over 50 would have him top 5 imo.

I'm slightly over 50 and although Kane would be "tarnished" in my mind he would still make my top 5 for sure on past achievements in goals and assists. He was part of the journey we are on - If he stays and keep banging them in then the legacy becomes alive again.

You are correct, and he should surpass that next season (if he does not leave), but could do it this year if he is sensational.

Kane (for Spurs)
338 games, 223 goals (243 PL games, 166 goals)

Greaves (for Spurs):
381 games, 266 goals (321 1st Div games, 220 goals)

Imagine he gets 30 more goals in all comps this year, and is only 14 goals from being the Tottenham Hotspur all record highest goal scorer. Would he still want to leave next summer? I do not see how someone can walk away from their boyhood club when on the very cusp of immortality.

Now watch him score enough to be top scorer this season, just so he gets to leave next summer with the record in his pocket too.
