One of my mates is a Watford fan. He sent a WhatsApp message group I’m on saying our ground was magnificent. A Chelsea fan replied saying the best in the premier league. My question to all the levy supporters justifying his failure again to fully back our manager is what is the point in putting our club into such debt if you are not going to find a fully competitive playing squad? Seriously what is the point? What are we actually trying to do here as a project.
To do the stadium and the project justice you need to make sure you bring in the best players you can and it's rarely possible to do that in one window.

We should have signed a back up striker but I'm not too unhappy with the rest of it. Adama's over rated so not too worried about that and we've replaced Lamela with a player that will at least be fit for 95% of the games. Shame not to offload Ndombele for someone that can be arsed to sprint but pleased to see Aurier and Doherty become surplus to requirements.

Hopefully Gio can find some rythm there's a fine player in there and I'm in no doubt he'll finish the season in Alli's slot.

We have made 5 very good signings and moved 5 deadwood players out. We are top of the league and have not conceded a goal beating the champions in the process. I really do wonder how many of you cope in the adversities that life throws at you.

I'm so f****d off with the transfer windows. This window was the first time I've been properly involved with some info and I've experienced first hand the positive noises which come out of the club early doors only to be met by exactly the same shit every window! I was told to expect 3/4 more players in and it's ended up being 1.....f***ing 1!

I rated the window 7/10 as I think business on the whole has been decent and Paratici has started giving the squad the much needed revamp it needed. I understand it will take a few windows but we're seriously lacking creativity and no one can argue that. The fact Levy doesn't see it and has pulled the plug on deals when money upfront was requested is quite frankly disgraceful.

I usually give him the benefit of the doubt but he's royally f***ed me off today!

I say it every window but I will no longer get wrapped up in the hype which we always get early on in the window only to be replaced with a sense of disappointment at ANOTHER missed opportunity. I know Traore split opinions but I honestly think if we signed him today then top 4 was ours. If not Traore then another creative midfielder to give us that extra spark.

We simply cannot afford to miss out on CL anymore! Fuck off Levy, you're full of shit!

Hope everyone enjoyed deadline day ??‍♂️
I think you’ve been superb for this forum all summer long. Thanks for all you’ve contributed and shared during the window.

Maybe it's just me being naive, but why not take a punt on Boubacar Kamara? Helps provide depth for Pierre and Skipp, would only be around 10-12m, and is a relatively highly rated player. We've been linked with other players in that position throughout the window.

Apologies if it's already been talked about on this thread and I've missed it.

Hi, I've been lurking here for a few weeks.

I guess I find the ITK stuff pretty entertaining and so. I don't know if it is because of Paratici being new and the sources have dried out, or if the ITK stuff is just made up, but as far as I recall, the ITKs haven't been first on a rumour or called one single recruitment this summer. And the latest ITK says that Levy has pulled the plug on more players in. When nothing else has been true, can we really trust this particular post, or is it as much made up guesswork as all other ITK posts have been all summer?

Is there some kind of follow up on ITK, are some more reliable than others?
See ya

The problem for Levy and it's not 100% his fault is that he is obviously always told by whoever is advising him, player x be it Ndombele, Soldado or whoever is the best thing since sliced bread and whenever he pays the money they tend to be poor.

He just always seems to sanction the wrong deals, but I don't think we can really blame him for being afraid to spend 50m when every time he does it, it doesn’t seem to work out. We should have signed Traore years ago, his ability and Potential was clear.

If DL didn't sanction a move that was getting up near the 50mil mark for a player that half of us can't even decide is any good or not, then I have to say that I agree with him. Especially if it involved shafting Bergwijn out of the squad entirely at the last minute.

If Adama Traore was so important to Nuno and Fab, then that's the player we should have gone after first with ample time to make outgoings if required to fund it. It's not like he isn't a very, very specific player or someone that's just become available. He's been a known quantity the whole time. No excuses at all for us to be prying him out of Wolves at such a late stage imo, so if we've failed there then it's down to targeting a difficult target too late to get the job done.

The point isn't whether he's showing good judgement. Jeez. Paratici was bought in because what Levy thought was good judgement turned out not to be too often.

There isn't a position possible to take that someone somewhere wouldn't agree with. The problem here isn't his decision but the executive interference in something he claimed he was withdrawing his fingers from.

Paratici was within his parameters to go for the deal because we've bid for players with similar (and higher) fees this window. If Levy vetoed the deal then it's purely down to his own subjective assessment of the footballing requirements at the club, not the financial ones. And that's something he wasn't supposed to fuck up anymore.

If Paratici bought Traore and he flopped, we know who's responsible. If Levy was still running things and he flopped again, we'd know who's responsible.

Now with two camps vetoeing each other and landing on some reluctant compromise by fiat, who's responsible? There's no accountability and the one higher in the hierarchy can simply blame the guy one rung below him.

Levy has always played politics like this and I really thought it would take longer for him to get back in that mode this time. But he can't help himself.

Oh, and people keep talking about fiscal responsibility and transfer budgets like it's Football Manager and you have a slider set to a specific amount of funding that resets each season. That's not how it works. Huge businesses like Spurs aren't that short-termist and cash-flow reliant.

Added Serie A’s defender of the year and rock in the Copa, one of the best young RBs in Europe, a full Italy international to eventually succeed Hugo, Spain’s biggest talent aside from Ansu and Pedri who I think can seriously contribute sooner rather than later, and a fantastic dynamic midfield talent for the future. New deal for Son, Kane stays. Sold 3 players many wanted gone. I, like everyone else, am really worried about the central striker options, but on the bright side hopefully Scarlett can shine in the ECL and easier cup ties. It really comes down to the health of the forwards and one of Ndombele or Gil providing a real spark. The lack of a striker hurts more than the lack of players in other positions, but there are big positives and some top additions from the window.

Agree but would also think that someone who can hold/protect the ball during transition and then pick out a pass (for 90 minutes) was a bigger need. Tanguay could be that guy but nothing points in the direction that he is up for the challenge.

I think there's a lot of positives to take from this window. Our biggest issue was freeing up spaces. But the likes of Aurier digging in their heels has made that tricky. Likewise, N'Dombele has made his reputation so toxic that no clubs will touch him. At least not for the money we'd want.

In the meantime, we have hopefully improved at CB and RB. Skippy is basically a new CM signing. Gil looks really exciting. And Gollini is the heir apparent. Sadly we didn't have what was needed to land the likes of a Traore or McKinney. Them the breaks. And if it's true that Levy is responsible for slowing things down, that's a shame. As he has undermined Fabio and Nuno if that's what's actually happened. Not sure if Fabio would be overly thrilled with that, as it very much messes with his reputation.

Also, any words about Levy having a moment of 'realization' that he will need to over-invest to get us back into CL, was either hogwash. Or, for about three weeks it was true, then he reverted to form.

I think we will be busy in January, and will focus on the two areas where we missed out, and can hopefully move along some of the garbage.

In the meantime, Nuno's got a lot of depth in the squad and his biggest challenge now, is Tanguy. Just like Jose and Poch... he's gonna have to find a way to make this git earn his wages. As he can't be bench-warmer for four months. He has to contribute. Somehow. Someway.

I'm glad some of you lot aren't in control of our finances. I've seen some say we should have paid another £10m on Traore making it £60m! That's insane

It was too much to pay on a player who has never posted high goal/creation numbers.

We could have done with a playmaker and another striker but the players we identified weren't available in this window.

We brought Fabio in to identify players for reasonable fees not just splurge on Traore so if he's upset that's on him I think. As far as I'm concerned the goats info is a possible version of events. You lot are going on like Fabio has just done an interview saying he can't believe Levy hasn't spent more.
Er, the fact is our manager and DoF both plumped for Traore and obviously were given a clear steer to proceed initially only for a last minute about turn from Levy leaving it far too late to conclude another deal I expect. This one is well and truly on our Chairman and he had royally screwed Nuno and Fab (and most of the fan base)

Nuno just needs to get 1 of Gil, Lo Celso or Ndombele firing to solve any creativity worries we may have.
Someone said that Lo Celso played #10 behind Messi at the Copa America and impressed there?

I can see how that would work.

Maybe the club feel that Sonny is a better back up striker than what we can get in.

Can’t play him there in the conference league group games. We’ll run him into the ground. Need another striker for those matches. Maybe we will give the games to Scarlett but that’s a lot of responsibility for him.

Can't wait for the post mortem on this window
Don’t bother, a lot had already all been said. Best to keep quiet and keep most opinions to oneself or you will regret it. I’ve decided I’m going to.

Premier league goals are ones that actually matter. Number is 13. Lamela with the one league goal.
Yea sure we don't play in any other competition or need players who can replace Kane and son. Come on stoof, surprised at you

playing devils advocate, if Aurier ends up staying and has dug his heels in as ITK have said, then will that help Ndombele to settle back into the group as one of his mates is still there?

Anyone given thought that BSoDL has kicked in and gotten concerned should the £1BN stadium be empty again in a few months......just a thought.

Decent window for us imo. Shifted deadwood, reinvested in youth...and kept the WC Golden Boot and EPL assist and goalscorer.

(It can always be better....go over to RAWK and ask them how's it going).

I'd prefer to focus on the positive. The Don did good.

Chelsea's midfield versus ours is just embarassing on paper this season. Such a shame we don't show more ambition.
Sigh... It is very easy to show ambition with the money they have to spend. They are not more ambitious than us, we have to be more creative to catch up.
