This is why I stopped watching rugby. When a game is decided by the rules and not the performance and all the commentators support it then you know it's just a stupid sport and not worth getting emotionally invested in.

It’s the equivalent of being 4-0 up in the World Cup final and being told “next goal wins”

And also having used up your subs only for five players to then get injured and have to go off.

And probably injured because Latifi somehow managed to drive onto the pitch and take out those players.

Feel like I just watched Spurs, that was as Spursy as it gets, 98th min dodgy pen decision in CL final.

Only if the rule is suddenly changed in the 98th minute and a penalty can be given for................I don't know........the ball hitting a player above the waist? Absolute bullshit from Masi.

It’s one of the reasons I stopped watching F1 in the first place. Only got sucked back in by the closeness of the fight this year. More fool me.

And people wonder why F1 viewing figures are down?

It’s an amazing spectacle but the sport reeks. Hardly the only odd decision this season either.

any sport that’s down to a few stewards to decide is open to corruption. Just take boxing.

All cars are required to un-lap themselves apparently. So they just said on BBC
Its clear in the rules, the guy broke the rules of the sport.

Ending behind the safety car would have been shit but Masi has fucked this up so bad.

Sporting Regulation 39.12. The safety car needed to stay out one more lap as it has to wait until the lap AFTER the cars unlap themselves to come in.

I don't think there was anything nefarious going on. I think Masi just made a bad decision.

Clearly Horner was in his ear about the original decision to not let lapped cars through, and mentioned some mumbo jumbo about how "sporting integrity" required that they race the final lap.

Masi ultimately agreed that he did not want the championship decided under a safety car, and that it would be an exciting finish - without ever considering that Max, on new tires, would always be able to overtake in that instance - thus it was never a "fair" fight.

Mercedes had the better car, driver and tactics for 57 laps - only to be outdone by Masi.

Max pushed him off though?

I think if the boot is on the other foot, Verstappen would have made a crash happen and bagged the title there and then. Hamilton tried to race his way to the title - and they say cheats never prosper.

As soon as he got into a decent car he became a thoroughly unlikeable, stroppy, ****. The David Warner of F1 :D

F1 figures aren't down though. Drive to Survive has brought them back up again, US figures have doubled since season one premiered in 2018.

I’ve actually never seen a more corrupt sport in my life, just amazed how the rules allowed Lewis’ lead, to be wiped out just like that.

Can only assume you've never watched boxing or anything organised by FIFA.

I have no isses with the safety car and closing the gaps, it's been done for so many years now. It's them letting only a handful of cars. From what I can fine (not much online that I can find) I found the below.

As FIA indicates in Article 39.12 (sporting regulations 2017), lapped cars may unlap themselves once cars were lined up behind the safety car.

39.12 If the clerk of the course considers it safe to do so, and the message "LAPPED CARS MAY NOW OVERTAKE" has been sent to all teams via the official messaging system, any cars that have been lapped by the leader will be required to pass the cars on the lead lap and the safety car.

not entirely accurate. They’re up from their lows but seeing they nearly halved from the late 2000’s to the late 2010’s. They’re still a long way from their peak.
