I think we are being harsh on Southampton, they defended very well, I’m just happy to see a game with a plan, effort and design. Gil looks like a baller.

I think the problem is that we would have looked a bit clueless against anyone down to 10 men with everyone behind the ball. We saw samples of it at home to Palace just recently. There's enough enough fluidity and creativity.

Lets not forget that we were terrible when they had 11 men too.

I want to see the camera looking across at that offside and I want to know how the second one was disallowed as well? The standard of our officials is awful. Absolutely awful.
Clattenberg was the referee expert on the tele and said the ref got it wrong but VAR doesn't get called in in that situation!!!
Why the fuck not?

We huffed and puffed second half and you can say we were a bit unlucky, but a point reflects that we were off it today and looking a bit weary. The offside was extremely tight but those happen across a season, we had many other moments in the second half but at the crunch heavy legs or a poor touch extinguished those openings.

Maybe Conte was showing signs of weariness today himself. Didn't get Alli on the right he has never been effective there, and the wrong footed wingbacks didn't really work either for me. It just allowed Saints to stay a narrow as the ball was coming back in towards and in front of them every time.

Frustrating day, they'll happen. It's how we respond.

People need to stop bitching about the referee and need to focus on the lack of ability in our team to break a team down

Very difficult to stretch a team that are condensed into a space 10 yards outside their own box and dont budge from it.

The problem wasn't that we didn't attack the spaces - there weren't any. It's that we lack technically adept players with close ball control and an eye for a pass. When Davinson Sanchez is the player attacking the corner of the box then you've got creative problems.

Conte has done some excellent things with this side, but this is the first time we've faced 'the wall' this season, and conjuring up Iniesta and Xavi is harder than getting Winks and Dele to run further.

Two steps forward, one step back. We'll live.

2 points dropped but on another day we win easily. Disappointed with the result but we gave it a go and continue to look like a team progressing.

Beat Watford and Arsenal and it won't be a disaster this result but that's certainly two points dropped.

We started slow. Ok, no problem as I thought we were just being compact and waiting to go stronger later and we'd change it up at HT.

Not sure Conte got the right changes as I think Ndombele for Hojbjerg or Winks was the call to make but you can't blame him for not bringing him on.

But it's clear we lack creativity and another striker.

Didn't create enough real good chances, and not enough quality in the final third. Unlucky with the Kane offside, and didn't look like much of a foul on Forster. But overall it was pretty lethargic and disappointing.

When we have the chance to put the pressure on teams we do what we normally do fuck it up. 10 men should be beaten

Wouldn't mind us signing Ward-Prowse. A much-needed attacking midfielder, top-quality set-piece taker, and maintains Southampton's hatred of us for pinching their best players and managers.

Guy on BBC live-blog saying we didn't do enough to win it. We did. We had the ball in the back of the net twice, both times legitimately before they were incorrectly ruled out.

How many times do you have to score before you "deserve" to win? VAR is an absolute disgrace.
There is nothing wrong with VAR. Its the ineptitude of the officials who use it that is a disgrace

We give praise so we have to criticise

HT Conte should have made 2 subs. Reguilon and Emerson off who both played full games on boxing day and bring on Lucas and Gill and work the wings

Come on man is fucking common sense
I disagree. I don't think this was the game for Gil. He's not Prem ready.

We didn't need Hojbjerg and Winks in midfield. They'd already given up the midfield battle. This was a game for Ndombele's passing to open them up.

Think both are relevant tbh — lack of creativity, sure, and this is going to happen more and more with teams sitting back — but we also scored two perfectly good goals IMO that were disallowed.

the one where forster chucks it in his own net is a shocking decision
This kinda of decision borderlines corruption. I have no idea how was Doherty's jump considered a foul when he had no impacted Forster to lose the ball. He clusterfucked into his own net.

Forster got fucking lucky there. That's luck, if there's anyone still thinking we are lucky to have equalised.

What is with Winks with chipping the ball to the back post. Most frustrating player.
Yea. Frustrating. But his play is a lot more positive than PEH at the moment. PEH moves round the field like a busy public sector worker… looks busy but doesn’t fulfil his quota of work for the team

Nobody gets it right all of the time and today it was Conte’s turn. We still should have won even with the subs he brought on though.
