While I expect there will be a fairly quick sale you have to wonder how much this whole episode will severely damage Brand Chelsea - tainted with being ‘that Russian club’ going forward?
These sanctions last until May 31st so depends what happens after that. And whether Roman stands aside and accepts losing the club for nothing. Is it a possibility that chelsea could next season be taken out of the premiere league because of all of this?
Because they wouldn’t be able to do everything we’ve already heard about so surly not allowing away fans into
Stadiums etc.
Depends how long they can last. They will fall faster than the likes of Wigan, Bury, Bolton etc because they've got literally no income anymore and the amount they're paying players is astronomical. Unless they get bought in a matter of weeks they will have to start releasing all first team players on free transfers to ensure the club doesn't go bust. Waiting for a buyer is a huge risk, it seems inevitable to me that they will need to sack Tuchel and release most of the first team to ensure the club survives.Honestly, you guys are really reaching on this one. Chelsea will be absolutely fine, a new buyer will be found quickly, and they’ll continue buying trophies for years to come, just with new dodgy owners.
I started that one myself last week!Lets start a rumour that Mike Ashley has expressed an interest in taking the club off his hands, that'll cheer their fans up!
They can be sold just not by Roman. He’ll receive nothing and the money would be held by a government fund. It’s whether he accepts that or not.I thought they couldn’t be sold under the sanctions?
Why do people keep saying they’ll be sold?
I don’t see how they keep going for very long, their wages are what 70-80% of their turnover? They’re losing match day revenue, and possibly sponsors.
Unless there’s a quick sale, they’ll be administration within a couple of months.
Vast majority of top club revenue comes from television broadcast rights though. And they're still in the CL knockouts.I don’t see how they keep going for very long, their wages are what 70-80% of their turnover? They’re losing match day revenue, and possibly sponsors.

They're not allowed to put that money to use though are they? As far as i'm aware.Vast majority of top club revenue comes from television broadcast rights though. And they're still in the CL knockouts.
Sports washing works.I've enjoyed the Chav fans on 5Live, trying to convince the world that Roman is a very nice man, just misunderstood.
One even complained that no sanctions were handed out to Man U and Liverpool when the USA was fighting in Afghanistan. ?

He’s already pledged that proceeds of the sale would go to a charity foundation he’d set up. But let’s be honest, that would’ve likely been a front and he could’ve controlled where that money was allocated. If he were to sell under a government licence he would have no control over where that money goes and to who.Come on Roman, do the right thing and stand up for your ego! Don't go down without taking your club with you.
