United could easily offer him upwards of £500k+ per week.

I know they're not competitive for major trophies right now, but no-one is turning down that sort of money.

Plus if he wants to stay in the league, where else could he go if City gets Haaland?

I don't know why people are so dismissive about the possibility of him going there.
Because its not money he wants. He wants to win.

Most would argue Utd has a better chance of winning major trophies than us. Unless Conte is heavily backed in the summer.

I guess Kane is waiting like all of us to see if that will actually happen.

If it doesn't, then is Utd really that bad of an option for him? If the move to City is off the table.

Depends if Conte goes there and takes Kane with him.

100% agree, but would he leave us for another club where he's still not guaranteed trophies? I think only City and possibly Liverpool can do that in the next 3/4 seasons out of the English clubs, and for differing reasons I can't see him going to either in the Summer.

Moving to United really wouldn't make sense for any other reason than his finances.

Disagree.

We now have a clear direction with Conte/Paratici. Our proximity to be able to win trophies in the near future is much closer than Man U - who are currently managerless.

Kane just wants to win trophies. At this stage Man U don't even know who is going to take over. Unless they somehow manage to get Klopp, Pep, Simeone they really aren't going to be in better position than us to win anything next season.

What about Ronaldo? If he's still there Kane isn't going there because he'll be playing second fiddle to him.

Like Kane does for us, Ronaldo plays if he's fit.

If he wants to win something then he'd probably be better to let his contact run out and then he'd be able to join any club he wanted to as long as he wasn't too greedy. He could easily move to PSG or Bayern for a year or two and pick up at least a League title, or move to City or Liverpool and have a crack at the premier League.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s now his plan. He’s said he’ll play on until his mid 30s so he has plenty of time.

Bang on.

I find it a bit weird that some can't see that.

I agree that we have a better outlook but we have had a better outlook in the last few years yet they still won more than us - was it an FA cup. League Cup and a Europa League Cup? We cant continue to dismiss teams and think we are better because we dont win. Hopefully with Conte that may change. Fingers damn crossed.,

We are nearly a season ahead of Man U and they have more deadwood to shift. We could be close to being a Conte team by the time next season kicks off. Even if they up their game, they will still be bedding in.

Kane will give 1 more full season and then leave with 1 year left to United or City for 50m

He will also get the 24 goals he needs to be our all-time top goalscorer

I honestly can't see why Kane would go to United, they are a mess. No plan for years, signing big names with no structure or a decent manager. He will improve them, but not enough to even think about challenging for a title.

Also why would spurs sell to a direct top four rival? The money would have to be silly, which would make it a bit pointless for United to sign him.

An all round ridiculous discussion. City might be back, but if city didn't stump up the cash at the start of the season, why would they now?

Let's be brutally honest, when Kane signed his 6 year contract he made the same mistake as zaha.

With the Conte revolution, you could even argue that spurs could be his best (realistic) hope to win something (and continue breaking records).

While Conte stays and city don't pay stupid money, the conversation of him leaving seems a little pointless, as he won't.

Once again the scores of Man Utd loving journalists who are clearly bandwagon jumpers who climbed aboard the trophy gravy train as kids in the 90s who live hundreds of miles away from Manchester and Trafford Borough who are now in their 30s and posting a stream of biased articles that are based on their wants rather than independently verifiable facts, are claiming yet another insulting exchange and reduced cash where we might be interested in taking one of their rejects for Kane, this time Martial.

Pathetic pining on their part, why would we be interested in their cast offs in favour of our prized assets. They bored us with similar tales when writing about Alderweireld, and Modric, et al and that didn't work and now the try it with their constant drivel on Kane. Pathetic writing on their part that shows they haven't grown up and are still penning articles as though they're 9 year old's in red shirts with Sharp emblazoned on the front.

Honestly I'd ignore it all.

Once in a generation player and Levy/Conte at the helm.

He's not going to United this summer.

It would be commercial suicide for us despite what they'd offer...forever small time etc.

Agree. They have Neil Ashton working for them now and he's just out there spinning bollocks to ESPN and The Mirror. If you have a look, it is only there where the stories are conjured up and nobody else is picking up on them even in a quiet international week.

Have no idea what any of you are talking about.

Honestly, you should give it a try.

People talking again like Kane can decide to leave when it was clear in the summer that its our decision to make. Whether he wants to go to Utd or not doesn't matter. He's not for sale anyway.

Sadly, that’s how I see it panning out aswell. Unless we really turn a corner and challenge while bagging a trophy.

I’ve listened to the podcast where the Athletic writer who started this new round of Kane to Man U chat talked about it further and it really was very vague. They like him but are nowhere near making an approach and may equally like Nunez at Benfica for example. He also said Man U want two midfielders, they know the type they want but not names. He’d obviously been briefed by them but with no certainty at all of their plans. It also sounded like transfer targets at Man U would take a back seat until they get their manager in.

I really think this is a non story at the moment. Just out to fill noise during an international window.

To be honest, if he stayed one more season, broke the scoring record and we won a cup, I'd probably be at peace with him going off and challenge for PL/CL titles for his 30-33/4 years.

Yes he soured things a bit last summer but unless we really click and are challenging next season, only so much loyalty you can expect from someone who genuinely is good enough to be at that top table (ala Bale, Modric etc).

Plus a 30 year old prime HK with a year to go probably still gets you £40-60m for him (addons etc), so you can then put that towards a younger talent. At some point we have to plan for life after Kane, either because he leaves, or he gets old!
