I tend to be overly optimistic about spurs when things are going well, and overly pessimistic when we’re in a sticky patch. I think it’s the same for most!

What I find personally annoying are the sneering fans who always seem to know best and don’t waste any time in coming down on their fellow fans for having the ‘Wrong Opinion’ (I.e. disagree with them on something).
I quite agree with you on the "sneering" fans but all I was saying was that it seems to me that people are either /or with their "ISMS".

We beat a team who's lone striker spent the last few years locked away in prison.

Preston were about as threatening as plate of custard. Not any one of our players at any one time looked troubled. Oh forgetting Sess1
I'll take it if it gives the player some confidence. Seeing Son score again and Danjuma get some decent game time and a goal on his debut is a reason to be cheerful.

I'm firmly in team Conte but I have to admit when I looked at our team last night even without kane/richarlison I thought, "Conte should be doing better with this". Whether the issue is the players/him/Levy, we shouldn't be struggling as much I feel

I wonder if that's a glass half full thing?
Pre-match, Tanganga - Sanchez - Lenglet as a back three had me worried, but they did a decent job. With Bissouma and Son out of form it looked to me as though only Bentancur and Kulusevski reflected enough quality for a Champions League team. But the boys done all right in the end.

I am still convinced Conte will leave in summer due to his family issues - but that doesn’t mean he has given up on us. Players are still playing for him - Levy is backing him as minimal as possible. Porro & Danjuma signings should lift the camp up. Who knows we put on a run together and finish top 4 and win FA cup - Conte may very well stay . All to play for for rest of season

At times the football isn’t great under Antoniooooo BUT if we get Danjuma, Porro and say Hincampe in then one thing I would say is that he and Paratici are going about re-building this squad meticulously and they’re clearly having very positive influence on Levy and our football plan.

The above is based on IF we finalise those 3 signings. IF we do then I’d also love to see conte sign an extension, I know it won’t happen before the end of the season and he will evaluate in summer but it would be so good to have:
A) clearer plan on rebuilding the squad (seemingly we are getting there with that now)
B) some consistency (Conte contract extension would be ideal for that)
C) with signing these better players the style of play will become more watchable and enjoyable like it was at the end of last season
D) we will be putting the ingredients together to give ourselves as best chance as possible to win by finally BACKING a truly elite world class manager

The rest of this transfer window is now massive in terms of hopefully a positive momentum swing with the fans and the club overall ?

Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte will be ‘waiting for a call’ from Real Madrid should Carlo Ancelotti leave, according to reports in Spain.

Conte replaced Nuno Espirito Santo as Tottenham boss in November 2021 and led the north Londoners to a top-four finish in his first season.

Despite a successful 2021-22 campaign, Conte’s future at the club has always been cast in a little bit

The Italian has often complained about his squad, lack of funds and fixture congestion, giving the vibe that he is willing to resign on any given day.

However, more than a year on, Conte is still at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and has a big job on his hands.

Whilst it feels made up, if he were to jump ship. I wouldn't mind ancelotti.

You have said that but sometimes you need a morale booster - why wouldn't you want to take some heart from the game?
Because it doesn’t fit into his “Conte is shit”narrative.

We go away and comfortably beat a Championship side, keep a clean sheet, Son score a couple of wonder goals and Danjuma gets debut goal.

Yet we still have fans bitching and moaning about our performance, which then start to suggest that it isn’t constructive criticism but simply a jaundiced view.

I know. They literally had 11 men behind the ball, with us having a rotated side including a couple of players who clearly arent fit yet and people kick off.

Yet we've seen time and time again we lose or draw games like this.

Plus we got knocked out of league cup by Nottingham Forest’s reserves and if we’d beaten them like we beat Preston, no doubt some would have been saying we should have won the game so nothing to be excited about!

No game is a given!

Exactly. It was a good, solid professional performance.

We are likely to see this from a minority of fans for the rest of the season. When we win, it’ll be silence or “we won but…..” and when we lose it’ll be “Conte is so shit, £15m a year wasted etc…”

So it go sometimes…..

For sure - I don't think that anyone could be thinking that everything will suddenly fall into place after the Preston game but I think that it's daft to want us to be losing games just because it might hasten Conte's departure.

A non-story IMO.

I'm sure Conte would absolutely love to be Madrid manager but why would a club that's absolutely obsessed with winning the European Cup bring in a manager famed for underperforming in Europe. Makes no sense.

If they really wanted him he was free 18 months ago in a pretty sparse manager market and yet they preferred to buy Ancellotti out of his Everton contract.

And if one of the issues is being away from his family in Italy, moving to Madrid doesn't solve that.
Mind you, didn't Ian Dowie leave Palace citing homesickness for oop north and promptly move to Charlton! Which is about 2 miles further north than Selhurst Park so he did move closer.

I guess this means Conte will leave in the summer. As ITK said, this window will decide if he is backed or not and it's obvious Levy haven't backed him...
