Conte didn’t prioritise CBS with the goals we ship that would be astonishing
Conte had the second-best performing defense in the league six months ago with our exact CBs minus Lenglet. I would have loved some reinforcements too but there’s more going on here than just “old players bad”.

2 CBs, goalkeeper, and an attacker, if Danjuma stays. Doesn’t seem like a lot.
Doesn't seem a lot? Have you not seen us operate in the transfer windows?
No way we get 4 or 5 players of decent quality in one window and not because they aren't available, because there's no way we spend that much in one go.
At least one of those positions should have been addressed this month.

You say DL but maybe Conte didn’t prioritise CBS this window over a right wing back? Maybe the players we want simply aren’t available this window?

We can’t solve all our problems in 1 year. It takes a few windows to build a squad to the level we want.
You can dress it up however you like but the simple fact is this... If this is all we get(Danjuma, Porro) we should and could have done more. AGAIN!!!

This 100% really. Considering the huge amount of work this team needs there is nobody that can convince me we couldn’t have brought in at least one more this window. And that is aside from the amount of games we have coming up in the second half of the season and the World Cup fatigue will def hit at some point.

And it’s a huge reason the fan base aren’t happy. We continue not to back the manager when we should and there is always the same old “we tried” excuse.

it’s a shame if we aren’t able to push Hincapie forward as it’s clear we need to make changes at CB now

Was hoping for a CB alongside a RWB this window but tbh going by the way we generally operate in the market, realistically wasn't expecting both to get addressed. Sounds like we've made some sort of effort with Hincapie but with it being late in the day, door is likely closed on this one for now.

No no, it's definitely coincidence we didn't have any links for CCB in all 3 transfer windows with Conte at Spurs!

It’s now been 3/4 windows since Jan and Toby left and they realistically needed replacing a year earlier than when they left. We’ve only signed Romero… How many more windows are players in a position we glaringly need not available.

I think I intimated to your good self before (?) - there’s a lack of confidence from levy & gang that Conte will be here longer term.

I thought it strange that we didn't loan Conor Coady ahead of Everton last summer. A defender with lots of experience, English, free to loan and excels in a back 3. Another weird one for me.

Our main need this window was a CB and we don't have 1 I think it's absolutely criminal

Should have done more. But it's more important that it's the right player, than whether he comes now or in the summer.

It is pretty frustrating when the stadium and all it entails should have allowed us to act differently in the market. We were sold on this dream of “acting differently” and to be honest it feels like we start to get there and then the club gets cold feet. We saw a glimpse of it in the summer with some earlier deals, but the best teams know their needs and are aggressive in addressing them. We kind of have returned to form this window.

Reactive, hoping for an opportunity, playing the long-game, etc. When in reality, we had very obvious needs, and really had everything to play for, so every game a reinforcement can come in and help achieve those goals can be rewarded tenfold. What if we miss out on Champions League by 1, 2, 3, 4 points? Our form has been awful, the team needed an obvious morale booster. You can impact that by being aggressive in the market.

Sure, it’s a whole season and diminishing it to a run of a few games can be questioned, but by God, you get one opportunity in the season to right some wrongs with the squad, and to only have a financial outlay of ~€7-8m in loan fees (if the reports are true) is just inexcusable. These needs did not change due to injuries, they weren’t unexpected. We gave up 21 goals in 10 matches and we added a RWB and a backup attacker.

All of that is incredibly frustrating, and it’s made even more frustrating because it felt like some corrections could be made. Badiashille goes to Chelsea, sure, huge contract, whatever, but there are moves to be made. It’s kind of same ol’, same ol’.
