Poch not the only one under consideration.

The Spurs hierarchy is split on whether to bring Pochettino back to the club and he is not the only coach under consideration if Conte does leave.

Unbelievable – he's not been our manager since 2019 and we're still getting shafted by these Poch-Madrid stories :grumpy:

Barber will put De Zerbi off us just like he did with Potter. Barber will be able to tell him exactly what Levy is like so can't see that happening at all. His stock will likely be very high for next while so he would be silly to think about taking on spurs role. If Conte and Jose can't get full backing from levy then he definitely won't. He'd be much better off staying at Brighton.
The same Paul Barber who is consistently praising Levy as a very good owner etc?

Regardless of the mess we're in (I maintain it's less of a mess than 2021), we're still one of the richest clubs in the world in the richest league in the world. There's some tremendous players here, plus the appeal of being The Guy who gets it right. Honestly unsure there's another job in Europe that has the potential to be both successful and immortalised.
Great post, if anything Poch showed that the right person with the right approach and who builds a connection with the fans through the football they get the team playing and through their personality can be part of something special at Tottenham, I can't stress enough how wrong a fit Jose Nuno and Conte have all been for our club therefore some are blinded into thinking no manager can ever have success or do a good job for us. Jol did, Redkanpp did, Poch did, we just need to find another one more like those.

De Zebri I could really see us getting behind in a positive way just don't for a minute think he'll leave Brighton for us but I'd love it if he did.

Is that opinion or have one of their ITKs spoke? Thanks

The latter. It's been mentioned a few times on there over the last months, but the most recent response last night by Prof when asked about Poch coming back was this: "That would require a significant volte face by DL. "

Personally, I think Poch is still on the table as are a couple not on the list at the top of this thread. I wouldn't be running to the bookies to put money on any one particular person right now.

Happy with the latest snippets. De Zerbi and Gallardo are both excellent coaches imo. Would be over the moon with either, also think it gives that time for Poch to get a proper job elsewhere in the meantime and if he/we want to go back in the future it will be better.

De Zerbi and Gallardo are the names I want us linked to. Young, exciting and with fresh ideas. They are both longer term appointments rather than 'win now' which I was really worried a out following Jose and Conte.

All this being said, we will need the right structure to allow any manager to succeed. Pending Paratici's hearing I hope to see us act on appointing a new DOF as without it we could appoint any manager and would constantly go round in cycles.

I'd love to be wrong as I think he's got the potential to be an outstanding coach, but I just can't see us appointing Gallardo.

Think he'll take a job in Spain tbh.

why is he out of management if so highly regarded was he sacked or quit previous job?

The Argentina football calendar runs from January so it was always awkward timing for him to make the step to Europe, and didn’t want to walk out mid-season. There were reports that he turned down Barcelona on this basis a couple of years ago

It'll be interesting what names will be linked once the date of Paratici's fate draws closer.

Am I right in saying that only Rui Braz has been tentatively mentioned as a possible successor? I've said before, a Braz-Gallardo axis looks really exciting on paper but I wonder if other names such as Michael Edwards will come to the fore.

Who knows, we may promote from within so someone like Gabbanini who's currently chief scout under Paratici or Steinssen but then conversely, Levy might rip up the playbook once again and dispense of utilising a DoF.

Yeah, you don't often see managers from South American clubs come directly to the UK - usually they go to Portugal or Spain first. Scolari is about the only one I can think of that came straight to the Prem.

The fact Gallardo has apparently been learning English is encouraging, though, and he did spend a season at DC United.

Can also throw Gallardo into the mix as well. Fact is they can't agree on anything which is why we are where we are. Unlikely to be Poch too many against it.
Whoever is for him should be employed as DOF instantly.

Oh, I think there's a very strong possibility he would leave Brighton for us. We may be a mess, but it would still be a massive step up for him. So taking the job would be a risk but also a massive opportunity for him.

You also have to bear in mind how fickle football is. De Zerbi is the flavour of the month right now but potentially a bad season away from losing much of the credit he has built up. I don't think he's done enough yet to walk into any top job he wants, and I am not convinced his reputation will hold up if he stays and Brighton hits a proper rough patch.
