Maybe one day I’ll see a football team who have been coached. A team with a genuine understanding of set tactical approaches. A team who have been inspired to press and work hard. A team who have some confidence in each other, confidence in at least being able to pass the ball a few yards.

How many times and teams do we need to play against who look so much better and more of a team, even if they don’t necessarily beat us, before we stop blaming and judging individual players and just accept right now we’re an awful football team. We’ll play awful against Brentford even if we beat them, same again against Leeds. Individuals might do things, opponents might play worse than us on the day but none of that means we haven’t been awful now for 4+ years.

People will lay into Mason for this but they are being very unfair.

Emery is an experienced coach, he has his values and has walked into situations where his experience and values can be applied relatively seamless.

During a season.

Mason hasn't that experience to walk into a bad situation amd apply his ideas because he hasn't really developed them yet. He's still figuring stuff out. He's not even had a preseason to do that.

Until he has that and a full season to reflect on, he won't be able to have it figured out.

So people need to lay off hin

Mason quoting "a club of this size"?

We have a big ground, gin palace facilities?

"a club of this size" thinking is part of the reason we are a total shitshow.

A little more humility would go a great way to endearing the fanbase, but Mason is too close to the club, Levy and his job. And out of his depth as a manager at this level for sure.

Well today we did see a team that was coached. Unfortunately it wasn't Tottenham.

This match really opens your eyes up to how inconsistent fans are. When that was performance under Conte or Jose early doors, fans be like oh my god, Levy needs to back him, this isn't their team yet, not their identity, not had a pre-season with them.

Mason gets in the job for his 4th game in 2 or 3 weeks and it's can't give him the job, that will show the Mason Messiah lovers. Some even think cos he was part of the coaching team that he was making decisions.

Mason is my 4th choice but I would 100% be behind a guy that loves the club and will try to work with what he has.

Sorry to disagree. If Mason is our next manager then we're done. At least Levy must consider the fact if he gets this wrong big time next season he will be finally out

You can tell the amount of apathy amongst the fans about the state of the club from how relatively few pages there are for a match day thread; people are clearly losing interest and for good reason given the ineptitude that is running through all levels of the club.

I highly recommend people to check out if you haven’t already for this season. I spent the day on the beach and hopefully the weather continues and I’ll do the same next week.

For me it’s got to the stage of just checking the score, no radio or telly.

I put my Palace ticket up on exchange: no takers, most likely to be the same for Brentford. All very similar vibes to when Jose got the sack, for all of your own sanity start your summers early.

Disappointing that after a full week of training so little has changed or improved. Still the same lack luster start to the game, which never really improved all game long , still the same uninspiring midfield and shambolic defense. It’s hard to fathom what the board see as the way forward out of this malaise.
Only 2 more games to suffer then hopefully we will begin to see some positive moves to give some hope that we can contend at the level we should next season. Can’t say I’m holding my breath.
One silver lining from this miserable end to the season is normally we finish the season strongly to give the façade that next season we will be a force to be reckoned with. This season’s end should leave no one connected to the club any doubt that big changes are needed before next season begins or we are going to be in trouble.
