We built steadily too. We've finished top 6 in 12 of the last 13 seasons. We are the 5th highest earning club in the country.

Calling us a step down from Brighton is truly ludicrous.
I would have agreed this time last season and nothing to say we can’t get back, but so much is broken

I can only assume the poster meant at this exact moment in time. As in De Zerbi would prefer to stay there in the immediate short term rather than come to Spurs.

Everyone knows Spurs are a much bigger, wealthier club than Brighton.
I've no doubt he's only thinking about this moment in time, which is pure flavour of the month, short-sighted thinking.

I dread to think what he thought of Bolton while Allardyce was in charge. Light years ahead of us, of course.

Different era but we weren’t so hot back then either if I recall 😂

Dutch league doesn’t finish until the same day ours does. I can’t imagine anything is public before then (if that is indeed where we go - surely it is?)

Quite possibly, but there is not one reason De Zerbi would leave Brighton ad they are to come to us as we are

Spurs are damaged goods right now, conte moaning about club signings, tottenhams history is this, there is this owner and they won nothing in 20 years etc. Everyone in the world heard that. Fans chanting levy out and protesting. Any manager that is on an upward trajectory would be mad to consider us without assurances. They know what the problems are. The ones that are a big fish in a small pond (slot) or the ones that are on a downwards trajectory like Rogers would definitely consider us.

Something a lot of ambitious managers will try to achieve.

You need money in the modern game to achieve. Our turnover is more than 3 times theirs.

Their transfer record is £20m. We've bought 6 players for more than that in the last 3 seasons, including their best player.

I think damaged goods is a good way of putting it.

Of course we are a bigger club than Brighton but right now they are in a better place than we are.

And which team went onto bigger and better things? Us, because we're clearly a much bigger club with more money. Same as we are to Brighton right now.
Just to clarify, I am not saying Brighton are Bigger club,, of course they aren’t! just that at this moment in time we are looking for a manger and at this moment in time De Zerbi would be mad to leave there for here.

Honestly I couldn't disagree more!

Nail on the head right there. I had more joy supporting Spurs under Harry and Poch than when we were managed by Juande Ramos!
So did I matey. The Wembley stadium games were amazing. Though that's in the past, how may years since , and what have won?

Yeah, we are a complete shambles, the squad is so disjointed its unreal, we are set for some tough times in next couple of years. If you are De Zerbi, you dont leave brighton for Spurs now. His stock is too high, he'll be better off going to Italy and take over one of the big sides over there where he could win a league title and challenge in Champions league. Apart from Spurs, the other teams in the traditional top 6 look set for a couple of years in terms of managers so there may not be any options for him in this country.

Now Nageslmann is out the picture I am struggling to see any better option in the above list than Di Zerbi

Slot is massive gamble in the Premier league. Especially with his style of play.

Start next season with some tough fixtures, likely no Kane. He could be sacked in 10 games.

As a fan base our patience is gone.

If Levy wanted patience Poch was the choice.

Can we afford this all again after the Nuno fiasco. It dejavu.
