Why go to UTD?
they haven't won the league in a decade. With City looking they way they are it doesn't look like they are goin to win the league any time soon.
Pointless transfer for him.
We disagree slightly on timings, fine. If they had targeted slot as number one and didn’t get him then they have failed there. They also targeted tuchel and didn’t get him and failed there. They probably went after JN before slot and the talks were killed. Slot really was the 3rd choice (after ignoring poch).Slot was first choice though wasn’t he? We had to wait until he tied up the title to talk to him. Nagelsmann we couldn’t appoint before their season ends without large compensation. Enrique may be well down the list. Chelsea wanted Poch we didn’t (he was second choice when they went for potter so was always going to be the next cab off the rank there).
Plus then there’s the DoF situation to deal with. That’s the one I actually can’t believe we haven’t sorted. Much more than the manager anyway, which was always going to take until now. If we are still sitting here in 2 weeks with no appointments then that’s the time to get annoyed. But not yet.
I think the new manager will get one more season of Kane because he will run his contract down and then go to city and Haaland will go to Madrid. If not then Man.U can pick him up on a free or even Chelsea if Poch is smashing it there but doubt he’d make that move.Kane will be at UTD. At this point of his career he needs multiple chances of winning shit + extra cash. We won’t be offering that next year and the year after is a gamble. If I’m Kane I’m off.
If Levy allows that - maybe he would be sacked...Either way I think he’ll run his contract down.
Just curious as to what about Slot would lead you to believe that selling both of our best players would be a good thing? That's how we got 2 points from 8 games remember.I think the new manager will get one more season of Kane because he will run his contract down and then go to city and Haaland will go to Madrid. It’s interesting about the ITK that Slot possibly wanted to sell Kane and Son and clear the decks, tbh I would’ve liked to have seen that under Slot just a complete rebuild with a decent budget but not many other managers I’d trust to do that in which case Kane staying for one more season would be best.
You might well be right (I predicted last week it would end up with us appointing Rogers or Mason), and if it were Rogers I know most of our fans will be up in arms (I certainly wouldn’t be happy). The thing about Rogers is, if we have a decent DoF in place who actually succeeds in cultivating and supporting an on-field identity with recruitment tailored to suit it, Rogers could do a decent job in getting us playing better football and creating some momentum. The issue is Rogers isn’t the most likeable manager and history suggests he’d only give us a couple of good years before it went downhill. But if the DoF is doing their job well, those couple of years might be enough to get us back to a place where we can be competitive under a better coach. But it’s currently hard to see us doing any better than ‘steadying the ship’ under the next appointment and that’s rather damning.
I agree with this but it depends a lot on who we appoint as manager and DOF.Why go to UTD?

But the truth is his ROI could/would have been much higher if Levy had been more competent in running the football side of things. How much more money do you think we would have earned if Paul Barber, for example, had been exclusively in charge of the football side of things for the last 20 years? Please allow me to unbaffle you
Joe Lewis doesn't give a flying fingerbang about the football club other than what the ROI is.
As per my earlier post, the optics of either that or appointing Potter are just shocking for Levy. Spurs socials will get roasted, the media will be on their back, fans up in arms and neither will get ANY time whatsoeverTo give Chelsea a free run at Pochettino and end up with Brendan Rodgers would be a clusterfuck of epic proportions.
Play champions league football while prob winning a domestic cup or two or stay here and be around mid table with fans booing the club every week
It will. But that’s where we are now. I’m not saying we are going to get Rodgers, but people need to build a fucking bridge and get over the whole Poch thing. To give Chelsea a free run at Pochettino and end up with Brendan Rodgers would be a clusterfuck of epic proportions.

It's why I am still reasonably confident this won't happen (but I would be only marginally happier with Big Ange sadly... who is it least more of a personality and doesn't have the tons of baggage of the other 2)

The style of play would be a concern but harsh to say T.Frank is dull and boring, I think of Nuno when I think of Dull and Boring, T.Frank is very likeable as a person.
I think he’ll prob stay but more due to levy asking to much than any loyalty to the club. It's the first time we've not had Europe in 13 years. We've probably been in the Champions League more consistently over the last 10 years.
Kane isn't going to leave his boyhood club for a punt at a domestic Cup.
He might leave for a guaranteed title. Only City can guarantee that at the moment.
For me, it is far more likely that he runs his contract down, then moves to City on a free like Sheringham did to United all those years ago.
Moving to United right now makes zero sense for anyone hunting a Premier League or Champions League winners medal.
I would bet the mortgage that Ten Hags United will never finish above Pep's City.

I'm not falling into anything, dismissing a manager of his standing is deluded. I'm sure plenty of us want to see a coach building a team playing better football than we've seen lately including me but I still think some of us need a reality check.I don't want him. The true reality check is this buddy: I'm sure he's probably (one of) the best mangers we can get by reputation, and achievements, BUT why suffer his shit football when Levy ain't going to back him. He's gonna be another bitch arse mofo serving up footballing tripe. If we were serious about competing, I could understand the hiring, even if I still don't love his football. You my friend are failing into the Conte/Mourinho trap of wanting the biggest name available.
I think Postecoglu or Slot would be absolutely perfect for Palace.Eze, Olise, Guehi, Mitchell...good move for him but with the Brighton rivalry would he go? Few others coming through
And they’re breaking that by hosting an extra Beyoncé date:Under its planning permission, the club is only allowed to host 16 non-Spurs events a year, of which not more than 6 can be music concerts.
The other events help but the purpose of the club and the overwhelming source of its revenues is the football.
