It will. But that’s where we are now. I’m not saying we are going to get Rodgers, but people need to build a fucking bridge and get over the whole Poch thing.

The last thing any of us want is another manager based on their stature.

He's either the right fit for us or he isn't. Some think he's right for us, some don't.
I posted some pages back that we'd be as well to take a step back and bring in a coach who will build a side that played as a team not a bunch of individuals playing the game by numbers and postulated that Potter would be a good fit but that didn't go down well either. It appears nobody is good enough for this club according to many of us whichever way we come at it and that's why I say we need a reality check.

I think there are just a lot of members using the site and many share very different ideas on what it is that we need.

Some want big names. Some want managers with great CVs. Some judge by their playing style.

It's a subject that there really is no consensus on whatsoever. I really don't think there is a standout or obvious candidate for the role.

Levy needs to pull a rabbit out of a hat. I’m absolutely someone who had never heard of Slot 6 months ago, but was gutted when we didn’t get him.
I’m hoping we can very quickly find a DoF who can very very quickly identify and appoint another coach who I I’ve never heard of, but has great potential.
I’m one of Levy’s biggest supporters but he really is making it very very hard to defend this shit show.
As plenty of people have pointed out, Poch and Slot should have been pretty straightforward. Nagelsmann, maybe a bit more work involved, but also doable.
As things stand, it’s all very bleak.
I’m expecting Mason on a short deal, Harry to effectively run things.

And they’re breaking that by hosting an extra Beyoncé date:
Yup. They’ve agreed with Haringey to forgo one of the other 9 events. I’m assuming that booking an extra concert was done deliberately not in error.

The diagnosing of highly successful people in their fields as absolute morons is quite a thing.

he is greatly successful, probably exceptionally smart. However he has shown little appetite to push Levy at least openly to fix the football side and I am referring to structurally not throwing cash at it even though a more successful team would help increase the value of the club.

He may not care to grow it more, he may not want a showdown with Levy or he simply may not know about how smarter football recruitment could help grow the club even more than it is. Either way he is missing a trick a trick much smaller clubs like Brighton are not missing.

I think we’ll see John Kennedy staying at Celtic (current assistant) and if Ange comes here they’ll install Mason as his number two.

Just curious as to what about Slot would lead you to believe that selling both of our best players would be a good thing? That's how we got 2 points from 8 games remember.
Yea fair point mate , my take would be that we need a huge rebuild, at Feyernoord he lost 3-4 of their best players last summer, rebuilt the squad and won them the league.

I just had a very very good feeling all round about Slot but alas not to be.

truly impressive how Levy has managed to turn a club on the cusp of something great into this pile shit in just a few seasons.
So true!! Levy is a prime example of someone buying into their own hype - a few years ago, we were being hailed as one of the best run clubs in the premier league - that created a monster! He now truly believes he's invincible and is out of control because no one seems to challenge his shit decisions.

I'm not sure if Poch would have been the solution but he was available (for free) when Conte threw his hissy fit but that would have meant Levy and co admitting that they may have made a mistake in 2019! Better to replace him with his backroom staff and then wonder why it didn't work. Sad, sad times for our club.

How can people who have created a world class stadium and infrastructure get us into such a mess? I’m not even angry anymore, just sad.

If Levy allows that - maybe he would be sacked...

Its not often a corporate executive can get away with throwing away a £100M asset for nothing.
Funny how people disagree with the notion of throwing away £100M is a bad thing...

If you think a new manager is going to have a tough time rebuilding without Kane, imagine trying to rebuild without Kane and any of the money you get from selling Kane.

That would be corporate negligence.

I think the issue is the club is such a mess that Kane is needed to steady the ship for the following season. If we where in better shape it might be easier to take the money and run.

I mean we should absolutely be aiming higher after all the years of struggle to enable us to compete but I could see them working as a pair to be fair.

I'm not sure you let a manager the fans adore and one whose they they were singing to go to a despised rival though and then appoint a near unknown from a farmers league.

The optics alone put him in a really difficult position and I'm not sure he would get any chance at all with the fans and the media.

Yes. This club really seems to excel at not putting its own people (on the footballing side of things at least) in the best possible position to succeed.

This the disconnect.

If the club were in better shape, we would not need the money from a Kane sale.

But, if we let Kane walk away for free, and still have to replace him, but now with nothing - where will that leave us?

Because that is levy’s area of expertise and football isn’t at all
