hasnt he already signed for PSG
Tbf it hasn’t actually been finalised yet, apparently they are pulling a Levy and trying to get the transfer fee down last minute but he has done a medical and I’d say it could be announced any minute now.

He isn’t really an Ange style winger/wing forward though is he? He’d have been more of an 8/10.

Would Simons even be the typical Ange winger? Hugging the touchline wide before taking on his man and cutting inside or driving outside?

Re Simons, he’s primarily right footed but as I said he’s incredibly versatile, he was a product of la masia and was considered one of their brightest prospects. It’s why PSG nabbed him when he decided not to sign a professional contract and why Riola repped him. (Now he’s being repped by Darren Dein which is probably why he’s being heavily linked to Arsenal.) When he was going through Barca’s academy he was played all over the pitch including as an 8, 10 and on both wings. I would imagine CF as well knowing how they develop their players. He’s fast and very skilled on the ball, when playing wide he will cut in and look to take on the full back and break into, or along the edge of, the box. He will stay wide on the line but also drift inside but he does like to be direct and he does like a trick. You could just as comfortably play him AM as you could LW or RW.

Re him in Angie’s system, yes I think he’d fit and I’m sure we have had ITK saying that we would like our WF to be versatile so he could play in more then position (which is why I suggested him). If we asked him to stay wide and look for 1v1’s he’d have no problem imo. But like I said, he’s still very raw and really he’s only now just starting to make good on his potential but because he’s been rated so highly since he was a young kid at Barca that is why big clubs are already circling.

As for Kang-In despite being left footed he played largely as a LW last season. Again he’s another one who is incredibly versatile and he was one highest rated dribblers in La Liga last season both in take on attempts and successes. I can’t remember the exact numbers but he was up there with Vini Jr. As for being an atypical Angie WF he could certainly play it but yeah you’d probably want him drifting in to make the most of his full skill set. But I’d say the same for Kulu so there will have to be some flexibility in the role regardless. Anyway It’s a pointless discussion tho as we lost our shot with him but again due to his versatility you could play him pretty much all over the pitch. I reckon at PSG he will probably take up that RWF role depending if they get Bernardo and what they do with Asensio.

A short story.

Tottenham consider signing Solomon.
Shakhtar threaten to sue.
Tottenham schedule friendly with Shakhtar (with large donation to their humanitarian social fund: Shakhtar Social)
Herc update.

Surely it's FIFA that a Ukrainian club would need to sue, as it's FIFA who has ruled that players can terminate their contracts, not the new clubs. Or failing that, their next step would be to sue their employee for terminating their contract. 🤔

Even IF they sued us they'd get nowhere, it's likely noise and chest puffing. So Spurs pre-empt that (win) and avoid negative press (win) and put on a friendly (win).. donate to a good cause (win), get Shakhtar off our backs (win), and we get a player on a free. (win).

It's a win, win win, win, win, win situation

Plus we get a bonus pre season friendly at home (win)

Seems like he'd be a good squad option off the bench as a Son backup, or maybe even long term replacement if he keeps developing.

Very good 1v1 dribbler which Ange seems to really want in his wide players plus he's a genuine goal-threat from range unlike, say, Gil who, for all his technique, I don't think will ever be a reliable goal-threat.

Hard to get a true gauge on him given how little he played last season, but 4 goals in fewer than 600 mins is pretty nuts however you spin it.

Worth a punt I reckon given he's on a free.

Low risk, high upside - why not?!

Willian seemingly looking elsewhere rather than sign again at Fulham - anyone who watched them last season will know that Solomon looked decent, but was rightly kept out of the XI by a born again Willian. Obviously it makes far more sense to get a young Solomon for free than an old ex Chelsea and Arsenal player but honestly, he was very good last season, we'd probably be signing him if Mourinho or Conte were still here !

On a free, this is a no brainer of a deal to replace moura and danjuma.

more money for quality defenders.
Yep and he’s better than Moura and Danjuma.

Would be another great piece of business also another exciting player who suits Ange's style of football to a tee :)
