Great effort. We're two down but it's only been a session here and there where we've come up short.

Wood in for Jimmy at Leeds?

The Aussies will very rightly be criticised as cheating/unsportsmanlike arseholes

But we do need a shift in approach for the next 3 tests

Either a slight move away from Bazball. Or maybe cheating a bit more.

Both sides need to fuck off with the short ball shite, boring as fuck at times. Feel like I haven’t seen a cover drive since Friday!

Do you think if it continues we'll see a change in the laws of the Test cricket to limit the number of short balls like T20 and one day games?

Incredible stuff.
Spirit of the game? N
Not sure that applies in professional sport any more.
See football.
The 'stumping' was crucial
but England bash-balled it away in the first innnngs.
Entertaining as long as you don't care about winning.

But they didn't 'bash-all' it away

They were 40 runs off winning and one wicket was basically stolen

Play exactly as we did the second innings

Reckon England can still win the series tbh. They’ve contrived to lose both tests imo when they could be sat here at 2-0 up, not 0-2 down.

188 for 1 in the first innings, all out 325.
Test Match cricket is 5 days.
Take your time, don't force it (Phoebe)
Valiant (losers) effort, exciting to watch, Stokes is magnificent
but Australia go 2-0 up due to their greater focus.

Headingly is going to be raucous.

Need to get Wood into the team as we've been a bit one-paced with the ball.

Both tests we've ended up 50 runs light entirely of our own making, and in both tests those 50 runs would have won us the game. So lets get our heads straight, have a plan for the short ball that doesn't involve trying to put each and every one of them into the stands and we can win this next one.

Here is a good example of why it's so much more infuriating when Australia don't play fair compared to other nations.

One if the quick fire questions to Postecoglou a couple of days ago was "Mankading - cool or not cool?". No way that's a question any other nation would ask as it's not something people think about other than for a few hours after it happens.

But Aussies like to pretend they are about the integrity of the game and fair play so something like Mankading is always front of mind. I'm not even sure there would be the expectation the interviewee would know what a Mankad was anywhere else.

The last time I saw shithousery of that magnitude with the Bairstow dismissal that left me that disappointed was when Sadio Mane deliberately kicked the ball at Sissoko's outstretched arm.

Some will call it intelligent and within the laws of the game, and cleverly catching an opponent off guard which is correct, and by the letter of the law it was permitted and it reaped rewards for Australia and Liverpool and that's what the history books will say. Does it feel wrong and underhand ? Sure as hell it does.....

Let's all spare a thought for Khawaja and 'Davey' Warner who had to endure the sharp words and 'Physical Contact' from a few 60 yr olds desperately trying not to drop their prawn sandwiches, they are the real victims here.
