Broad's not a mug with the bat when he is fully focused on it. Underachieved as a batsman given his early years but he can time the ball well once he's settled.

Sadly, it all went a bit wrong when he took a big whack on the noggin by an aussie bowler (I think)! Since then he's struggled.

This is where test cricket is incomparable to any other sport I can think of, to sustain tension for so long.

It’s a shame as you can see that the Baz Ball ethos will eventually work one day against the Aussies. The tail is far too long to start with and then the intensity for the bowlers is a lot to sustain.

In an ideal situation and injury free: Archer and Wood would match the Aussie fast bowlers.

I’m not too clued up with the youngsters that could come into this England team but they need the Anderson and Broad replacements to come in and why not give the young spinner Rehan Ahmed a go as well.
