It's as if people forget we've had the likes of Bale, Modric, Gazza, Hoddle, Greaves and so on. Acting like Kane is the only one we've ever had at that level is crazy. We've often had those calibre of players and moved on when they leave. I don't know why people are so worried about life after him given we've won nothing anyway. I want him to stay this last season to help transition our football under Ange. He will go at some point though and we'll be fine.

Bayern coach Tuchel is said to have spoken to Kane.
(From ARD / German BBC - quoting Sport Bild)

They just keep going on and on in the german media. Even the big ones like ARD are running this story now 🤣😄

Apparently, Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel also sought to talk to the English striker when courting Harry Kane. According to information from “Sport Bild”, Tuchel is said to have met Kane at his house in London. The conversation is said to have taken place during a trip by Tuchel with the then sports director Hasan Salihamidzic in mid-May. The two are said to have also met West Ham professional Declan Rice on the trip.

According to "Sport Bild", Kane (29) is said to have been very impressed by the exchange with Tuchel and assured his clear willingness to move to Munich. The attacker from Tottenham Hotspur is said to have explained to those responsible that he wanted to win the Champions League with the German record champions in the coming years. The England captain still has a contract with Tottenham until next summer. According to reports, Bayern were turned down with an initial offer of the equivalent of 70 million euros and, according to media reports, are now planning a second one.

Aww, that’s cute; having their manager meeting players contracted to other teams, and then posting said information publicly.

Either it happened, and they’re a bunch of pricks.

Or

It didn’t happen, and the newspaper/club are a bunch of pricks.

I just read something from that Christian Falk journo who wrote the initial piece for BILD that Kane will force his way out on a free at the end of the season if he doesn't move this summer, not sure you need to force anything if that's the conclusion of your contract.

Moved on to what? Not winning more trophies?

Rice with 1 year on his contract goes to Arsenal for 105m.

But we'd sell Kane with 1 year left for less?

I know who I'd rather have in my team out of those 2.

As an example, Bale carried the team under AVB. He was sold and nobody knew how we would cope. We struggled without him for a while until we built a far better team under Poch. We got regular CL football and to a few finals including the CL, mounted a league challenge twice. It's pointless trying to predict how it will go without Kane.

Owen’s a good reference for a player who isn’t loved anywhere due to seeking greener pastures everywhere. Same as Van Persie, who won a league title but isn’t exactly a United legend (nor is Rooney for reasons I can’t really understand). It can work - Kante’s loved at both, Aguero made himself an icon, Campbell obviously - but it can come at a cost that may last longer than the payday.

I get why becoming another head of the dragon appeals but it’s just not the same as becoming Totti or Terry, dragging your club to the top rather than teaming up with the conquerors who’ll win with or without you.

I don't want him to go but it's worth remembering that there were 7 teams that didn't have Harry Kane that all managed to finish above us.

We survived without Berbatov, Bale etc so will learn to survive without Kane as well.

He had one year left but West Ham had/have the option to extend that by a year I believe so really he has two

Could have been more if he wasn't playing for us maybe

The copium is real.

In my opinion if you are a supporter, then Kane means more to us than just being the best striker in the world and he is more than a number on a financial spreadsheet

Let’s face it, the fact that Owen was good enough to win is why most people still remember him…not because he is 10th in the PL scoring list!
I'm not sure Owen ever scored 20 league goals in a season. He's remembered for bursting on to the scene, scoring 2 to beat Arse in the cup, going to Madrid & winning the Ballon D'or.

The thing about winning the Ballon D'or or a trophy (unless your club gets done for dodgy dealings) is they can't be taken away from you. Records can be broken

Exactly this. Create a fast high press attack and spread the goals around more. Get diaby in, add a young quick striker too with potential then get goals from maddison, diaby and the striker to replace kanes goals. With a high octane quick attack it’ll be a different way of playing. Kane for 100m, replaced by 60m diaby, David on a free, rotating with Richie and then use the extra money to secure tapsoba too.

Of course he does, to me he’s our icon and legend but we’ve held him back he’s given 9 great years to the club for no trophy reward and we need to cash in continue the club rebuild.

I don't think the question is will we survive without him. The question is how do you become equal or better without him, what do you have to replace in the team with other players, goals (both self made and assisted by others)/assists/linkup play/range passing/hold up play. That's a lot to makeup with one player, as you can't play another 3 or 4 players in your team to provide that.

Would Ange's system work without all that he provides, or do you need a player of his profile for it to work? If you do need a player of his profile then where do you look, cause with all due respect to Richy or Son, its neither of them, and its none of the other strikers that are associated with club (Parrot etc).

So, he goes for £100m, great, we have £100m in the bank, but now what, you have a gaping hole in the first 11 you can only fill with one player? Who?

How have we held him back, as someone pointed out to me, where was he in the finals he played in, he certainly didn't do a 'Ronaldo' and drag the team to victory.

Is possible that the Bayern links are because big time Charlie thinks that if he gets Levy to accept an offer from Bayern he would also accept the same offer from an English team? Obviously anyone with half a brain would realise Levy wouldn't agree to this.
