Ballon d'Or winners are more universal. PL top-scorer is more important in England.
Not sure I agree. I've watched him on US talk shows and "England's greatest goalscorer" comes up as part of his introduction. Similarly, "Premier League's greatest scorer" will have the same notability. I couldn't name many BdO winners other than Ronaldo and Messi shared them around a bit.

You can't blame him for not winning those finals!! He's not the only player on the pitch and if no one else shows up he can't do it on his own everytime, despite trying.
I think you are missing the point. What differentiates really good players from great players is that great players make a difference in the big games.

Jimmy Greaves scored in 2 of 3 Finals he played in for us(1963 FA Cup Final and 1963 European Cup Winners Cup Final). He didn’t score in our win over Chelsea in the 1967 FA Cup Final.
Martin Chivers single handedly won us the 1971 League Cup Final with 2 goals in 4 minutes when we looked like losing the game and then scored the 2 goals in the first leg of the 1972 Euefa Cup Final at Molineux that won us the trophy. The second was a rocket.
This isn’t to belittle Kane’s achievements but merely to point out that one of the reasons he hasn’t won a trophy is because in Finals he has failed to rise to the occasion. It’s no good passing the blame onto his team mates as rightly or wrongly in big games players look to their big players to step up and make a difference. Unfortunately for both Harry and Tottenham he has not managed to do that which will always be a negative mark against his legacy.

How many of those finals was he match fit for? 1/4?
Then he shouldn’t have started them. He never should have started the CL Final. That was a ridiculously bad call from Poch not having the balls to tell Harry he was starting on the bench. We won the QFs and SFs without him so we were more than capable of facing Liverpool without him.

I don't care what anyone says or thinks, imagining our club without Harry Kane is just wrong. Completely wrong. I just hope and pray that Ange can work some magic.

Maybe he has literally had enough of Spurs! Maybe the last thing he wants is another season here and Levy has told him it’s abroad or you’re staying put. So they are looking to get out now. Who knows, maybe Chelsea have talked and stated they will buy him in a years time? They have the money to buy anyone.
I they don’t. They’re struggling with FFP rules as it is.

Club was here long before Kane and there will come a time when he moves on/retires - the club will go on. Not sure whether I want him to go but just maybe a clever move to take as much as possible and move on into a new era.

I just can't see what his options are in this country, united have no money, city don't want him so maybe his choice is Bayern or us, surprised if he fancied Germany but he might want a new challenge

Literally the only reason I remember Owen is for his bullying of that 13 year old goalkeeper for that very odd TV show. And the fact BT insist on employing him as a pundit.

Save for the above and the Argentina goal, an entirely forgettable player.

The vast majority of fans will be sad to see him go but whilst I can see the point of view of people wanting him to stay for one last season, the anguish would only be that bit more if he opted for a club in the premier league.

I’ve supported Tottenham for longer than Kane has been at Tottenham and can assure you Tottenham without Kane is not wrong at all.
At some point in this decade Kane won’t play football for us anymore and the football club will be exactly the same.

We’re losing an incredible player yes but there’s 19 teams in the PL who don’t have this player and a number of them are fine and a lot are better than us. With Ange and a good replacement striker I think we’ll be okay, maybe not challenging top 4 okay but definitely not battling relegation or any other hyperbole.

Out of interest are you more emotionally attached to Kane than you are to Spurs?

I've actively tried to forget that he also did this but I can't...

Same was said when we lost other strikers like Keane, Berbatov, probably ones like sheringham, klingsmann ect.

Everyone thought we couldn't replace Keane and Berbatov, and then up came kane! We won't get the same type of player.

I want him to stay, but if he doesn't then I also feel the team might be more of a team than lookin to play through kane all the time.

Bayern coach Tuchel is said to have spoken to Kane.
(From ARD / German BBC - quoting Sport Bild)

They just keep going on and on in the german media. Even the big ones like ARD are running this story now 🤣😄

Apparently, Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel also sought to talk to the English striker when courting Harry Kane. According to information from “Sport Bild”, Tuchel is said to have met Kane at his house in London. The conversation is said to have taken place during a trip by Tuchel with the then sports director Hasan Salihamidzic in mid-May. The two are said to have also met West Ham professional Declan Rice on the trip.

According to "Sport Bild", Kane (29) is said to have been very impressed by the exchange with Tuchel and assured his clear willingness to move to Munich. The attacker from Tottenham Hotspur is said to have explained to those responsible that he wanted to win the Champions League with the German record champions in the coming years. The England captain still has a contract with Tottenham until next summer. According to reports, Bayern were turned down with an initial offer of the equivalent of 70 million euros and, according to media reports, are now planning a second one.

Blows my mind if as Herc suggested we sell and he actually moves his family to Germany and potentially sacrifices the chance to be the all-time PL goalscorer 🤯
It wouldn't hugely surprise me, the amount of crap he gets in this country, the lack of respect. Even if he does break the record, the goalposts will shift and people will slander him with comments about trophies (even if he wins some in the process - they'll say it's not the right ones etc).

Maybe he is sick of it all that especially after the England penalty criticism and all that came with it. A bit of time away from that is probably good for him AND his family which have to hear this too (this may also play a part in his thoughts). The other thing to consider is if he sees it as his best way out knowing that we are less likely to sell him to an EPL team.

Playing devil's advocate here but what if someone like Haaland knocks them out in a few years then he has sacrified his chances to win stuff for that.

We previously spent £60 million and they're not fit to lace Kane's boots - genuine question, without CL do you really think a good replacement is viable?

I was looking at strikers yesterday and then to realistic signings - nothing struck me as a good solution.

Though I am not a professional scout...obviously... so who knows
