If we end up with Lenglet we end up with the same rubbish defence from last season.
if we end up with Lenglet instead of VDV then serious questions needed to be asked about the recruitment side of the business.

Hopefully CEO will realise that the head of recruitment not up to the job and gets the chop - think Dan would sack himself?

I wonder why we are trying to knock money off VdV now. I hope its because Levy found out in his Bayern meeting that they won't meet his price for Kane. So we won't be getting Kane money and so need to cut back on signings. I just hope we tie that deal up and then I'll relax.

Wakes up to Daniel Levy’s still a **** shocker. I’d already cancelled mine and the kids memberships, haven’t bought them new kits or merchandise for years .& will continue that stance until he’s gone. I was considering taking my 3 teenagers to the Kiev friendly as it’s for a good cause but fuck him, bean counting loser. It’s compounded by them lot up the road backing Lego head. 1 trophy in 20 years and counting, messed up a once in a lifetime talent & yet he still has backers in our support base! Unbelievable, how people still defend that clown Levy baffles me. Thanks for the itk anyway gents

If only enough ppl did like you there might be some actual changes in how we operate.

Sadly, fans are lining up to pay the highest ticket prices in the world and buying their kids the newest kit every season. ENIC and Levy are in this for the money after all, not for "glory". So why change if the money keeps pouring?

Appreciate the ITK from you and Herc but we can’t have it both ways.

If you’re saying Ange wants more time to assess the squad then some more incomings need to be put on hold as we already have a squad of 31 players!!! None of us can say for sure 💯 if any of the current CB’s could work a bit better for Ange’s style of play so understandable he needs a bit more time to fully assess as it’s unlikely we will be able to sell 3-4 of them so he will want to see which ones he can work with, see which profile of player that then needs him to sign before pulling the trigger on some options.

There was negativity ITK about the Manager search process early on yet I said let’s see how it ends up as that is what matters and we ended up imo with a very very good choice in Ange. There was also negative ITK last Jan window about Levy and the Porro deal but we signed him in the end. There was negative ITK at the start of the Maddison rumours saying they’d very much doubt we will sign him, yet we did…

We’ve signed 3 good signings early this summer in Vicario, Maddison and Solomon. We’ve also been told there is lots of interest in quite a few of the players Ange may well look to sell.

I know Levy and his old tricks but I’d honestly be staggered if we reach the start of the season and haven’t signed a new CB and by the end of the whole window I think we will have likely signed 2 depending on who Ange wants to move on.

We are always told take things with a pinch of salt 🧂 either way, it seems like things change almost daily so honestly I think a lot on here would benefit from taking a step back at times emotionally and wait and see what happens and until something is signed and official then it’s not done either way.

I remain cautiously optimistic at this point that we will end up with 1-2 new CB’s and some other signings and will be in a good position, the process to get where we want to be might not be as smooth and efficient as we’d like with Levy involved but I think ultimately this summer we will get more or less where we want to be.

Excellent post Fish!

There were quotes of Levy being up to his old tricks regarding the Maddison fee, folks started losing their rag off of that, then few hours later news started breaking all over the place that we had agreed a £40m deal for Maddison with Winks going the other way in a separate deal for £10m.

We just need to step back and let things play out first.

Yep, those disgraceful fans who still want to go and support are a disgrace. Bunch of losers...

If we have a good start, these stay away fans will be first to moan about not being able to get tickets.

In no walk of life does it work to agree a deal, advance on that basis and then try to change it last minute.

In my world (finance), if you do this in a financing or acquisition, you will quickly get a reputation in the market of not being trustworthy. If you’re the only potential buyer or financier, the other party will still talk to you. But when there are multiple options on the table, people that have developed positive relationships will be prioritized.

It’s very basic stuff, and I’m surprised Levy thinks it works. I think he very much fancies himself as supreme deal maker type, which all recent evidence on the football front contradicts.

I think serious questions need to get asked if we are still nickel and dimeing when we are the 3rd most valuable sports franchise on the planet in terms of profitability (only the Dallas Cowboys and NE Patriots are above us)

Excuse me how would you know that it’s all about Levy business ppl don’t blacklist anybody they are not fans they smarter then that, what is the point of pointing fingers without any evidence yes I understand that ITK said so. This is not an evidence of anything twitter and other engine are good in blaming and pointing finger let’s be more responsible on here and stop blame culture, without upsetting anybody that is including ITK ppl. Where does blame culture get us too 🤷‍♀️

I'm not saying fans are wrong to support their club. My point is that for an investment firm like ENIC there is little reason to change their ways as long as fans pay what they do in order to support the club.

There have been suggestions of changing the terms. Could be price, payment structure or other items. But regardless, trying to change an agreed deal at the last minute is bad form. Even if Levy gets his way, the other party will leave with a bad taste, and that will make it difficult in future deals with this club, and with others.

If I’m honest, whether we get this deal over the line or not, the fact that we are still clearly operating the same shitty way as before is the overriding feeling of annoyance and a realisation that nothing will fundamentally change at this club until Levy is ousted once and for all - no half measures.
we will definitely stay in the cycle of pissing off of other clubs and or players by moving the goalposts, getting Poundland options, then once again struggle to get them off the books.
Hopefully as Trix says things havent really changed, means we are still in for VDV.
